Well, orginially people beleived that Vandal was the TENNO variant, but then we almost had the Prova Vandal given to us by Alad V.

So i think its now:

Wraith: Grineer

Vandal: Corpus

Dex: Tenno

Prime: Orokin

and that pretty much covers it. I really would like Dex to stay around for a bit, and i would like the opportunity to earn more Dex Variant Weapons for my arsenal.

So,

Prime=Orokin.

Wraith=Grineer.

Vandal=Corpus.

Dek=Anniversary.

actually vandal is tenno, not corpus, the Braton and Lato vandal are the Braton and Lato with a different color and the lotus symbol, while they could be corpus, i dont think they originally were

Why Dex? Doesn't Deux mean Two in French? (Canadians are part French after all)

TWO Furis due to being dualwielded

TWO year anniversary...

I dunno *shrugs*

As a french-speaking player, I'd think it's an acronym of 'dextérité', otherwise the Digital EXtreme option is the most relevant, I guess...

Actually, all the Vandals so far are still the Corpus recreations of them just with a unique Lotus insignia on them.

Maybe the Corpus send them as gifts to the Tenno or the Lotus just takes some of the manufactured ones and slaps a sticker on them. :/

Note that it's a dual weapon and that it's called the "Dex Furis", not the "Afuris Dex". I'd say that it stands for "dexterous", or "ambidexterous". Quite why we have this when we already have the ak/twin/dual naming scheme, I don't know yet.

EDIT: does the new prefix mean that the Furis/Afuris isn't Tenno in origin after all?

Hell, it could even be the English (presumably rooted in French) word "Dexterity".

I would prefer that "Dex-" weapons (and possibly Warframes and other stuff) are reserved for very special occasions, such as annual anniversaries. And that every year, new stuff is added, while the previous year free thing is sold for Platinum.

I believe the lore for those is as follows: the originals were made by the Orokin and are the primes. Later, the Corpus created a similar rifle with the same name. Hence the Braton family gets to have a vandal and a prime.

Wait.. i got it

Vandal weapons are Tenno take on Corpus based technology (the only exeption is the Lato, which is kind of nebulous on its origins. The braton was before corpus went to Deras)

Wrath weapons are tenno take on Grineer weapons

Dex weapons are Tenno engineers going "How can we make this more deadly?" for existing tenno weapons
