MegaSnail
I can still see it. I can still see the glistening golden trims apon the building of Auream. I can still remember the days when I was happy. Those days are gone now, all I can do is sit and remember the days. The days when I still had friends in which I looked up to, the days when I didn't have the enternal rage that devours me whenever I see another one of them. I guess I will tell you my story, since each battle I have with them could be my last. _____________________________________The Girl_________________________________ I was sitting on the roof of the Spe, a Orokin cathredal of Auream in which our people come once a year, watching the sunset with my old friend. We had won the old war with our lives. My old friend and I where bickering about what will happen to us, the Tenno, now since the old war was nearly finished. "My old friend... I fear we may not have much time left in this universe. The Orokin will surely destroy the Tenno," my old friend, Ohm, sighed. "What's the porpuse of killing us? What will the Orokin gain? We are war tools, if the Orokin decide to kill us off let it be. They may also use us again when the time comes. We are the best at what we do, and they know that. Maybe, just maybe, if we're lucky we can live happily in acceptance." I responded with a frown. Ohm Laughed, "Do you really believe that they would accept us? We're monsters, abanded since we where born! They placed us in the void and left us there to die!" He was screaming by then. "We're ontop of a Cathedral, lower your voice." I responded, calmly. "I just believe that the Orokin would treasure us for our accomplishments... it isn't really that far fetched." He responded with a snicker and got off the roof with a loud thud on the floor. "Come on down! The war may be over, but that doesn't mean we can just relax." he said to me, gesturing to come. I followed him to the Tenno sleeping grounds located at the biggest building in Auream known as Prodigiosus, a building owned by the Orokin army force in which all the tenno in the city where held. Ohm and I owned C2-103 nearly at the top of the huge tower. Prodigiosus had exacly 4,000 rooms, which made it a bit diffucult to get around but we still manage. Each room wasn't really "big" in the sense, but it still contained everything we needed to survive, it had one bunk bed, a table, and some extra room for what ever it is needed for. As we walked across the streets of the Orokin empire we came across a thief who was carrying food in her mouth and in her arms. She was running from what I presumed was the owner of it all. Ohm was too lazy to run after her, and in his place I dit it myself. Normally I would've just shot the girl's feet making her immobile, but since I didn't have a gun I couldn't do so, and so I did it the old fashioned way. I chased her. She was a lot faster than I orignally thought, she new how to run away from someone and obviously did it a lot. Even for a Tenno this girl was fast. She ran on top of roofes of houses and commercial areas with no respect for it at all, and persistently ran in random directions causing me to become a bit confused. Needless to say I did end up catching her, which caused her to call out for help and struggle, though it wasn't really much of a problem for me. I walked back to the owner of the food, with the girl, and gave it back. The man didn't say thank you, he just stared at me and spat on the floor, after muttering "Scum," and then walked away. This was normal, Tenno were not taken in with opened arms to this place. No one liked us. We where treated as the scum of the Orokin empire, and was treated like so. I payed my attention at the girl who I was carrying on my shoulders, who was complaining and hitting me on the back. Didn't hurt, just was annyoing. "Can't you just put her down?" Ohm asked me as I was walking towards him. "I could but she would most likely run away." I responded loudly, since the girl was screaming at this point. "I'm more than sure we can handle that simple task," Ohm said with a small snicker. I sighed and placed her down on her feet, where she simply said "about time." "Listen here, do not expect to be treated with respect after seeing what you just did, just listen to what we tell you to do and all will be fine." I told her, strictly. "Where are you taking me you infested scum!" Oh how I hated it when the Orokin people would call us that. I simply told her "with us." This got a good scare out of her. We continued our journy to Prodigiosus in peace, but not really quiet. The girl continued to agrue at what seemed to be at nothing, since we where both ignoring her, untill she cought my attention when she stopped argueing. Ohm took this as a gift from the heavens, while I found it very strange. To not dissapoint Ohm I decided to ignore this fact and keep on going to Spe. Patience is something Tenno have been made to learn, so this wasn't much of a hassle for me, untill the girl whimpered "I was just hungry..." "So are we, small one." Ohm replied codly without even looking at her. "Can't you just let me go?" she whispered, silently. "We could. The real question is will we? No one cares about what happens to you, no one will sympathize with you. We can kill you and it'll be just, and I'm more than sure your life would be better off if I did so." Ohm was staring at her this time, his voice was harsh, and I would've sworn he was smiling behind that helmet of his. Did he not show any remorse towards his words...? "Ohm," I nearly yelled this out, but cought myself from doing so surprisingly. He looked at me for a second and apoligized, which was sufficient to me. "Listen here...?" "It's Ciel. My name is Ciel." "Well, 'Ciel', thre is no need to worry. We hold no intention on holding you captived or even killing you, us Tenno have limits aswell. Even if we could've done this without punishment it still doesn't change the fact that even we are not given much of any food." I made cleared, which gave Ciel a sigh of relief. "We will leave you off at Spe and see what the officials wi-" "No! I-I.... I mean you can't," she rudely cut me off, "no one will take me in, I've been there already. Why do you think I'm out here in the open without a home?" "What do you suggest we do, then?" "I can live just fine without a family." Ciel said, smugly. "Alright." Ciel was found dumbfounded, so was Ohm, where they then both exclaimed in unity "What!?" I didn't need to repeat themselves, I'm was sure they knew what I said. "If you choose to live by yourself with no family is not under my jurisdiction." I pointed at the abandoned factory, where I was expecting her to live at. "Good, I was hoping you would let me go!" she kicked me in the knee, which really didn't hurt, and ran away towards the factory. Now that the annoyance was taken care of Ohm and I could go on to Spe without worry, which was awkward since Ohm was confused the entire time and continued to ask why I did it. I simply just said "Why not?" Edited March 27, 2014 by MegaSnail
MegaSnail
____________________________________Our Land________________________________ The war continued, but it was obvious that the Orokin would soon win. The sentients are reaching they're breaking point, their numbers where shrinking day after day. The higher ups where already deciding on what the Tenno's fate would be after the end of the war. This was all speculation at the time, but rumors where spreading that they would soon kill all the Tenno leaving no threat to the Orokin empire. I couldn't believe this. Even to this day I still doubt that the Orokin would do such a thing to us, their saviors! This was the day I decided to meet the girl once again, feeling as if I owed her for some strange reason. But now wasn't the time for me to think about this the Sentients where getting closer and closer to Aeruem. Our only guess was that they where planning on destroying the city, since it was the only place with such a small number of Tenno forces. There was only two more hours until the Sentient ships would arrive but that was much more than enough for the Tenno to gear up and prepare themselves. The City was in panic, the Orokin people were trying to get into a safe area, sadly the only ones that where big enough to hold such a mass was under use by the Orokin army. Nowhere to go, the civilians decided to go underground, deep into the Earth was their only chance of survival. The city was prepared and had enough food and resources to survive for atleast a month, so this wasn't much of a problem. Getting into the ground wasn't one either since the city was a giant gold mine, there were tunnels everywhere that lead to the deepest parts of the earth... I'm sorry reader, I must have gotten a little side tracked. Back to the Sentient's attack... They where getting closer and closer, I and my fellow Tenno could see their massive ships already. With my Braton (most of the Tenno now would know this gun as "Braton Prime") and lex, I was ready for battle. I also had a specially made scythe just for me, beutifally made and shimmered with gold. I called it the Reaper, from the old term "Grim Reaper" used by our ancient ancestors. The Sentient battleship was launching missiles to the city, which where takenout by our turrents. We had the upper hand here, we knew our land and where specially prepared for times like this. I ran with my squadron which held a Loki, two excaliburs (including me), and one mag. We where known as squadron D-320, one of the lowest ranking squads, since we where still only training. Regardless, my city needed me and I needed to help, so I got into one of the Orokin ships and aided in the battle with the Sentients. Our ship wasn't the most comfterable nor was it the most agile, but it held out just fine. The Sentient battle ships where raining bomb shells and bullets at the city, while also sending out much smaller fighter planes designed for battles in the atmosphere. Though their small size they still had quite the fire power, sending out plasma shells at a rapid pace. A few hit our fighter, but it still wasn't enough to take us down. Our pilot, the mag, was still learning how to drive one of these things, but that still didn't stop her from doing it well. She manuevered out of the way of the shells, and into the main ship. It was huge. It was the first time I ever layed my eye on one of these things from this up close, I could tell that my squad was nervous as well by their posture. I wasn't. I was excited to see this thing from so close up, I couldn't wait to fight... I was naive... so, so naive. If only I had known. Once our ship "landed" (crash landed) on the Sentient battleship we went off to destroy the ship from the inside out. We where in charge of section two of the ship, which was a relatively small chunk out of the ten sections. We ran in a group, we did not try to hide ourselves from the enemy seeing as they already aspected us to be here. Until... I saw one. I saw a Sentient for the first time. It... really was a robot. Its skin was made out of steel, its wires where visible from its neck. It had no eyes and was in the shape of a deformed humanoid, its knees where bented at the opposite direction, it had huge bulky arms that held a heavy machine gun, and its frame was just... thick. One seemed to send a signal out to the other Sentients, trying to message them that the Tenno are here. I was the first to move. I ran towards the enemy with my Lex in hand, nowing that its weak spot was at the neck I decided to shoot there, which was easy enough. I killed it off before it could shoot a single bullet at me. My squad followed. We ran into a docking port that held a massive amount of Sentients. Are you kidding me!? where the thoughts that came to me, and I quickly took cover behind an iron crate. One of my team mates wasn't so lucky... one of the Excalibur wasn't fast enough to get out of the sea of bullets that penetrated his body at every angle. Blood was left everywhere, his mask was torn off, as with most of his armor. Blood was everywhere around him. I laughed. This really was war? I was just so excited, at any moment I could die. The feeling was amazing. I signaled at our Loki to take care of the heavy gunners at the other end of the ship, he did as I said while turning invisible. The mag simply crushed the enemy force, but still wasn't enough. I took out my Braton and started to shoot at anything I saw, with each shot a Sentient fell. Everything was going fine until... a grenade hit me in the head. I had enough time to escape the explosion, but it was just enough that I didn't die. Fragments of the metal crate penetrated my left leg, leaving the leg immobile. It felt was painful. I yelled in agony, tears swelling up in my eyes. The Sentients where getting ready to fire at me, I was out in the open and had nowhere to go. Well, until my fellow mag pulled me to her, leaving me behind a half destroyed Sentient ship. She signaled Are you okay? in which I responded with a nod. I removed the chunks of steel off my leg and got up. It hurt, but I still could move. The room was almost taken care of. The squad continued to rain bullets upon our foe, and so did they. With only 10 Sentients left, we decided to take them off my hand. Our Loki was exceptionally good at this. He was able to take out five enemies within seconds with just his Skana. I took out only three, while the mag took out the rest. We continued our journey, forgetting our killed team mate and ran off. Only two more rooms to clear out and we should be done with our mission. We ran on killing any Sentients that where in our way, clearing out the two rooms with ease. The only problem was... getting out. Our mag crash landed onto the ship, leaving us with no way of escaping. So, our Loki suggested that we should just jump off. Tenno can handle extremely high drops with only minor injuries. Seemed easy enough... We went back to the enemy docking port and jumped off. It was fun. Jumping off from that hight was.. really fun. I might do it again. I landed on an Orokin residential, breaking the roof and landing on a dining room table... also breaking that. I checked my vitals for any injuries, and to my surprise I only broke one bone, which was quickly healed and back in order. I got up and left the house, looking for the rest of the team. The Loki landed five miles from me, while the mag was only two. Havoc was already raining upon the city, with Sentient troops everywhere destroying Orokin buildings and killing off our people. I decided to forget my squad and kill of the Sentients around my area. I continued to do so until I finally got a message from our commanding officers, the Tenno herders you may call them. This was the exact message. IT was burned into my head. I'll never forget what my orders where... Tenno, there seems to be a disturbance on sector E-5 of Aeream, all units that finished with your assigned task head there at once. I repeat, there seems to be a disturbance at sector E-5 of Aeream. All units with their assigned task done head there at once. I smugly ran there, thinking I could handle it with ease. (Update, I will be posting longer sections of the story, but since this Fan-Fiction is a WIP I might not be able to post at a normal. Expect me to post 8:00 PM Est. zone) Edited March 28, 2014 by MegaSnail
MegaSnail
______________________________________Hate____________________________________ Capsules fell from the sky. Everywhere I looked I could see them. What where they carrying? The first thought that came to my mind was Bombs, but it was quickly disproved by the non-existent explosions. They where too big to be carrying a squadron of Sentients... what where they!? I decided to just ignore them and run to sector E-5. As I was jumping from roof top to roof top I noticed something particular... I couldn't hear any screams. It all just stopped. What the hell is hap- I was almost deafened by the amount of voices that ringed around my head. All of them screaming for help, and all of them wanting where trying to make reason of it. I would soon find out what it was... I felt huge vibrations around me, not being able to hear very well I had to resort on finding out what caused it by feel. I turned around and saw... the capsule. six meters in height. I regained my hearing soon after seeing the giant capsule on top of the destroyed house, it was almost perfect timing. The capsule started to open, spraying out a mist of steam around it as it do so. Behind the mist was... a humanoid... it was bulky and huge, and seemed alive... this couldn't be a Sentient. There was no possible way for that. The mist cleared revealing the monster that it tried to hide. Too my surprise it was not alive. It was just like all the other Sentients, but more human like. It lifted its right arm revealing a huge blade that was 9 feet in length , and was sharp extraordinarily sharp. It didn't seem like it was holding it... it was actually attached to it. It took a step. It stared at me with its glowing eyes. And then it started running. I ran for my life. I each second felt like an eternity, my blood ran cold and my heart was beating slowly. The only thoughts that came through my head was "RUN! RUN! RUN!" I would've happily done this... the only problem was that it was faster than me. And stronger. It ran through buildings as if they where made of foam. I had no choice. I had to fight it. I took at my Lex and aimed at its eye. I couldn't stop shaking. I was a Tenno, this was disgraceful! Being scared!? This shouldn't happen. Regardless I started to shoot. Each shot was reflected off its skin, not one shot seemed to penetrate or even hit its eye. I quickly reloaded and started to run again, Lex in hand. It seemed to be tired of running. I turned back to see why he s- It held a gun. Its massive hand was holding a massive pistol. It shot. Surprisingly enough, it wasn't a huge bullet that was being shot. Instead it was an ARMY of bullets. I had nowhere to go or run. I covered myself with my hands, throwing my Lex on the floor while I did so. I closed my eyes and waited to die... I waited. I waited and waited and waited. Nothing happened. I opened my eyes to see that the bullets stopped. This made no sense. I noticed that my hands weren't covering me, but where instead pointed at the bullets with open hands. The bullets slowly turned back to the direction of the giant Sentient. And then they went. They where fired back to where it came from, destroying the gun and leaving the Sentient with only a blade. I wasn't the only one surprised, the Sentient seemed to be surprised as well. I stood there for a second, trying to recollect and figure out what just happened. The Sentient didn't wait for me. It started to again, blade ready to kill. Seeing that the enemy was quickly getting to my position I decided to move. But it wasn't the direction I wanted to go... I was heading straight towards the Sentient, reaper in hand. I wasn't thinking. I was just moving, as if by instinct. Was this the adrenaline kicking in? Regardless, I had a massive enemy looking straight down on my with a massive blade swinging at me. I dodged the massive blade by jumping on top of it and slash dashing towards its face. Hah... heh... I remember this part. Reader. Take note of this. Instead of trying to slash at the Sentient, I instead used the momentum of the slash dash to my advantage. I lifted up my leg, placing my foot right between its eyes, and pushed. The amount of strength in which this took was tremendous. This may be known as the "Super Jump" today, since I was eminently the first to do this to anything. Despite the amount of strain this caused to my leg, it also pushed the massive Sentient almost to its back. I then while I was facing the Sentient, surprisingly, threw my reaper like a boomer rang at the Sentients neck. The circuits and wiring of the Sentient was always placed on its neck, and always protected by a the Sentients chin. But this time since the Sentient was trying to regain balance, it stupidly showed its weak spot at me. Stupid move at his part. The reaper stuffed its blade deep inside the wires successfully killing the Sentient. As I landed on my feet, staring at the Sentients body laying on the floor, I noticed another thing. What happened to all the SOS signals? I quickly ran to the Sentients body to remove the reaper from its neck, and went off in search of the nearest superior. I checked my suits negativing system to find out that... the closest one was three miles away. I then checked my squadrons vitals. All dead, Except me. I smiled. I was one of the survivors... I had never felt so good in my life... but... what about Ohm? Oh reader... I think you know what happened to him. I do not want to be reminded of the pain I suffered back then... In tears and rage, I vowed to kill every Sentient. I grabbed my Reaper and ran. I ran to the nearest giant. Emotions where erupting, I couldn't think straight. I almost couldn't see clearly, I almost lost conscious and was almost going to be... Too late. I went berserk. Each giant I met was quickly made into a punching bag, each one was killed. No matter the number, no matter the strength, and no matter the weapon. My Reaper did quick work of them. The bullets weren't strong enough to hit me, each one was redirected back at the giants. Even when four of them where firing at me at once with a massive machine gun it still wasn't enough to hurt me. I started to float, and at the same time all the bullets also stopped. Everything happened instinctively. I fought like this for hours, only rarely resting. At this time I was sure all my Tenno friends where dead. I was the last Tenno of Auream. I didn't intend to die, but I also knew that I couldn't take on this massive amount of Sentients. Even with their main battleship destroyed by the hand of my fallen comrades I was still outnumbered greatly. I had to go. I killed off the Sentients that where in my way while I tried to find a ship. Spe was destroyed and has already fallen, and my Reaper was nearly destroyed. Having had no weapons to fight with I decided to head into a hidden base with a built in blacksmith area, hidden from plain sight. I knew the Sentients weren't programmed to ask questions about the area since the map was already downloaded into their brains, and if I knew one thing is that they didn't know where the hell this is. I ran towards the hidden base to take rest and also make an entirely new weapon. I was a trained blacksmith, every Tenno was. We had to know how to create and destroy things. I was already onto of the base's secret entrance when I noticed that the entrance has been opened recently. The dirt around it that was meant to cover it was taken off, leaving the entrance in plain sight. I opened the heavy metal door to see stairs that where also used, seeing as a trail of dirt was leading down the stair case. I walked down slowly... inch by inch. I closed the Iron door quietly making sure no sound was made. The base was deep down into the earth, it would take at least 5 minutes to reach it. I kept on going until the base was right in front of me. I took a step in to see... Ciel. She was holding a Skana in hand ready for the supposed enemy. She was hurling the blade towards me, failing to see that it was me. I swiftly dodged and tripped her seeing as she was inexperienced with hand to hand combat. I disarmed her as well seeing as she was holding it improperly... this was all too easy. "Do you not recognize an old friend?" I snorted. She turned herself over, not even bothering with getting up. "Wha... YOU!" she exclaimed, with tears in her eyes. She quickly got up and hugged me. She only knew me. I can only guess that everyone she knew is dead. Its not much different from me. Everyone died. We where the only two known survivors. I hugged her as well. Who we are or what we are didn't matter right now. All that didn't matter. The only thing that did matter was that someone was alive, and that was all I needed. We stayed like that for a while until I remembered what I came her for. "Ciel... I need to do something first." "What is that...?" she sounded as if she was about to cry... "The Sentients won this fight. We do not have much time, we must go now, but I need to first make a new weapon. Another scythe should do it seeing as I've already grown accustomed to it." I wanted her to understand. "..." "Thank you." The base wasn't that big, finding the blacksmith shouldn't be too much of a problem. The entire base was made of steel, no gold or anything. Just steel and the occasional marble. I found the blacksmith which held a massive amount of weapons already made. Since I am guessing that, you, the reader is a Tenno you wouldn't really want to hear about the process of making a weapon. The weapon was a scythe, as I wanted it to be, was completely black with red energy. Its blade wasn't like the Reaper prime, but came out with only one. I named it what seemed only natural. I named it Hate.

MegaSnail
_______________________________________Getting Out_____________________________ I held my new reaper, hate, in my hand. It felt... right. I swingged the scythe around to see its performance. Fast and easy to control, in fact it was better than the Reaper! I was proud of my accomplishment to make such an amazing scythe. Regardless I had to keep on going. I gestured for Ciel to follow me while I was on my way to the stairs, the girl managed to escape from the Sentients and hide here so I wasn't worried about her. I opened the iron door and took a step outside. It was already night time to my surprise, how long had I been working on Hate? I wonder if I can still get out... my thoughts where quickly interrupted by Ciel asking "what are you waiting for?" I looked at her and nodded. I kept on going stealthy, trying not to be seen by any Sentient soldier or one of those giants. My destination was an Orokin ship dock house which was located several miles. I walked and walked. I met no Sentients on my way, strangely, so I continued off cheerfully hoping that the Sentients where retreating for god knows what reason. To pass the time I decided to make conversation with my new found friend. "Ciel," she jumped a little from the sudden voice and responded with a quick "what?" "How did you manage to not be found?" "That's a stupid question..." she had a smug face on, which annoyed me. "Stupid? Mind your manors young one, we may be one of the only survivors but we still have to follow that simple rule." I said, sternly. "Fine, no need to be so stern," she pouted. She really didn't want to talk it seemed, which didn't matter to me. I wanted to talk and that's all that mattered. "Well? How did you not get spotted?" She stopped and looked at me, "I've lived my whole life hiding from people... I oughta know a few things about it by now, after all." "Whole life? "I stopped as well and returned the sight. "Well, not whole life, more like... the majority of my life. I do steal from people just to eat, you saw it first hand..." I didn't respond. I just started walking again. She followed. We remained quiet until we finally reached the docking house where I found a squadron of Sentients guarding. I told Ciel to wait here and kept going. They weren't really what you would call to be much of a problem, seeing as I could take on the Giants without problem. I also was surprisingly skilled with a scythe for such a new recruit, and had new found powers that should have only been used by Nyx... I was one lucky Tenno. I waved at Ciel to come over, as she did, and went into the docking house. All the Orokin ships where there left unharmed (lucky me), being an unskilled pilot and all I wasn't really good at this... I got in a plane that looked the fastest and helped Ciel up. I seated myself in, as well as Ciel but she had to sit on my lap (she wasn't too happy about that), and tried to figure out... what to do. I had training on flying one of these things though it was only the basics. Oh well. It really is all or nothing right now... I switched on the engine and prepared to take off. This was the easy part seeing that most of the take off was done for you, but the controls where much more troublesome. I was ready. As the spaceship slowly turned over to face. These things where designed for quick take offs, they skipped the whole process of having a runway. I prepared Ciel for what's to come by saying an old phrase used by our ancestors: "Buckle up!" "Wha-" Ciel was cut off my our engines. At that moment our atmosphere ignitions started up. The G-force of this thing was just as bad as you may have expected, seeing as it wasn't designed for much of any comfort. Adding the extra wait of the small girl was enough to make even a Tenno dizzy. I was only 50 meters above the sky when I heard the first shots of the Sentient torrents. The shield of the ship was enough to withstand the initial few, but not much else. I had to improvise. I skipped the first few steps of take off and decided to go to complete overdrive. This was a HORRIBLE idea as I was still in the atmosphere and only about 50 meters above ground, but I didn't really have that much options. I almost blacked out by the sudden amount of G-force. The docking port was completely destroyed, and so was most of the buildings around it. The force of the thrusts where not to be underestimated. I was going fast enough to not have to worry about the amount of shells being launched at us, let alone anything else. Five minutes until we leave the atmosphere. Everything went just as I expected. Sentient fighter ships where on my tail once I left the atmostphere, but unfortunately for them, I made quick work of the Sentients. Our destination was mercury, the only place in the solar system that had so much Tenno. Out of the eight-billion Orokins that lived there, 1% was Tenno. Being one of the very few survivors I felt obligated to tell them my story. The time would come for me to do so, the only thing I can do now is wait until we arrive. I went to sleep leaving the ship in auto-pilot. Easy enough. ... "You have reached your destination." I sluggishly got up to see if this was true, which was unsurprisingly correct, and turned off the auto-pilot. I didn't really bother waking Ciel up seeing as she seemed pretty comfortable, and was also drooling on herself. This was the moment when I got a pop-up from Mercury, which to my guess was to see who I was and what I want. I opened up the tab and saw the face of a young man. "State your name a- oh my... you're a ship from Auream, are you not?" he said, while looking at what seemed to be my ship's information. "Affirmative, I'm one of the few survivors of the battle.. I have brought a passenger with me," I responded, pointing at Ciel, "I'm a Tenno who seeks only to land. May I get permission?" "Y-yes! Of course!" he astonished to see a survivor. Was it really that much of a dog fight... Most of the cities in mercury are underground and isolated from the melting surface of Mercury, cooled off by a cooling system the size of ancient day New York. I was heading straight into the planet itself, through the exosphere of debris of broken ship parts and other useless junks. The shield protected the ship from any damage, which was the only real threat of going into Mercury. Regardless I went into the entrance of one of the cities, a huge circle that could be opened from a switch of a button. Not much people come to Mercury due to its unpleasing aura, so the entrance was almost always closed. The massive door started to open, revealing a tunnel that lead to the city of Calidum. The tunnel itself went straight into the ground for about a mile, which was nothing compared to the amount I had to travel just to get here. I entered the entrance into the city, slowly but surely reaching my destination. It was also at this time when Ciel began to wake up, yawning and trying to stretch her arms, only to be stopped by the metal that encased us. "Wha..." she said with a sigh. She began to rub her eyes for a moment until she suddenly bursted out, "Wait what!? Where am I? Why are we in a cave!?" Startled, I responded with "Calm yourself, there is no need to scream. We are at Mercury, entering the city of Calidum. And this is not a cave, it is the entrance into the city. Be patient. We'll arrive soon enough."
