So, we were promised lore by the Devs in the last Devstream

Evidence

Where is it?

Before anyone claims that the new skin is lore, it isn't.

It's not definitive in any way and it doesn't tell us anything we don't already know.

Edit: One theory brought up ensignvidiot was that the Lotus's inbox message might be lore, suggesting she has the capacity to just modify any weapon she wants and she created a whole new class of weapon: the Dex.

 

Edit: Tenno, I finally found the link to definitively prove that we ALREADY KNEW Warframe took place in the Dark Sector Universe.

Unless there is some counter evidence to be found

They prove that Hayden Tenno is the original Tenno, thus and if he is the original Tenno that means he must of existed in this universe (with the rest of the Tenno), along with being in the Dark Sector Universe to be the protagonist of Dark Sector.

Unless there is some silly interdimensional traveling of some sort, which would be rather unnecessary and a tad out-of-theme.

It's all being done mate, ya look at all the little things they're adding in, I say they're trying to avoid putting in Lore they'd have to commit to, slowly adding in more ideas so that future bosses/weapons/BADLANDS don't interfere. 

 

Good idea I'd say. Who knows, maybe Vors Prize has something to do with the Badlands?

Just remember, the game is far from any release date. It's making firm progress, but if ya look from closed beta and now (In a livestream)... There's far more than a significant difference.

Yes, I know lore is upcoming, dear Tenno. My issue is we were promised some this week, and update day is over. I have the suspicion that it's simply not coming.

What I would of done is have a message be sent out today from the lotus detailing some information she intercepted that may hint to the next update. Even if it's vague, it's something.

I wouldn't be up in arms if it weren't for the fact we were assured that it was coming this week.

I played Dark Sector. This is established fact to me. They reconfirmed something that didn't need reconfirmation.

I wanted something new.

It's the same kind of lore. If it's not new, it's not worth promising anything about.

I guess that having something in game instead of some statement so many livestreams ago is good. But even if they never confirmed it, I would just assume it. It's so obvious.

It was a half-&#! rushed paragraph typed into the description of the long-awaited Dark Sector skin for our excaliburs.  They tried to cover their &#! and "Kind of" live up to their promise.  Nobody could say that they didn't give us lore, right?  Just the amount of it wasn't anything near what we expected.

 

 

And I wasn't expecting much!!!! Maybe a few more Lotus-sequences for Bosses or something?  An explanation of who the Rescue target is, like an important Scientist or Tenno weapons designer?  NOOO we get a paragraph of Lotus's letter and 2 sentences about something we already knew.

 

 

Thanks for the cool stuff, DE, but I wanted a bit more LORE.

 

 

 

And none of this is meant to degrade DE!  THEY HAVE MADE AN INCREDIBLE GAME!!!!  But when you promise lore, I"m sorry I expect more than 2 paragraphs of already-confirmed S#&$.
