What's This? (Void Level)

So I noticed that the Helios takes scans of objects that it can't see, including objects behind other objects like walls. Thus, while I was running a Void Exterminate mission, I came across that room with the large, circular pedestal with containers on top.  Then I noticed my Helios was scanning something underneath the floor, here:

 

 

Anyone know what this is supposed to be, and whether we can actually reach the place it's at?

those are one of those lasers, sometimes the path in front of you, opens up. People fall in if they are not paying attention, and the 4 lasers down there kill them.

That is a laser trap. I haven't seen it activate more than twice, though.

Needless to say, you don't want to go down there.

Looks like a laser traps piece. More specifically the part that extends out and fires a steady laser beam.

Helios actually has the same function of our codex scanners. It has a built-in thermal (I'd like to think it's thermal but it really isn't...) scanner that is able to check for objects through a certain "width" of obstacles but not actually scan them.

my helois makes the room glow blue every 10 sec for some reason o-o like that pic up there ^ trying to scan something o-o
