How To Build Vauban For Public/solo Odd

Question

For all Vauban experts, what build should I focus my Vauban loadout? Duration, strength or efficiency for long 30+ waves of ODD.

I use Loki as my main and maybe it's time to get a new frame that can make ODD runs a little easier. With Loki's invisibility (400% melee damage boost) and Orthos Prime (potato/no forma) it can easily kill infested mobs. At wave 30+ Ancients take 3-6 hits.

And is Orthos Prime the best melee for infested using normal attacks as of now?

Thanks!

I use Vauban in ODD for vortex the first 5-10 waves, and for Bastille for the rest (went till wave 75 just alright). Cast Bastille two times, since the amount of enemies this skill can hold is limited. So, duration and efficiency. Power strength increases the number of enemies held. You will need it too, in the later waves. Oh, and take Stretch. Makes your Bastille roomier.

Duration, with Narrow Minded and Stretch. Then Bastille at either staircase. At higher levels Vortex at either staircase as it doesn't have a target cap.

You can use a Rank 4 Fleeting Expertise for better energy management, but that means you have to recast the CC more often. With a good group you can usually clear the waves before they break when not using FE.

Edit: DON'T stack Bastille's on top of each other. You have to place them separately. If a mob is lifted in an overlapped area it will count against both Bastille's enemy count.

OP is great for area attacks, but Dakra Prime will get you more single target damage for normal units, and Dual Ichors have incredible DPS for taking out Ancients.

You dont use orthros prime for normal attacks. Charge attacks is the way to go. I like my dual ichors against them.

Better yet, Jat Kittag.

- You're immune to knockdown while swinging.

- Full 360-degree AoE, whereas the Orthos series has roughly 270.

- You can freely move around while executing the charge attack, meaning that you don't have to worry about getting clawed to death as you swing.

- Same Jump Attack radius as the Orthos series; joint-highest in the game at 10m.

- Slightly higher base charge damage, which makes up for the lack of Slash damage once modded.

- Knocks enemies down on every charge attack.

Only downsides:

- Slower charge speed.

- Impact rather than Slash (but, really, it shouldn't matter too much when both are decked out with mods).

So I've been using OP the wrong way. I'll try to rebuild my OP for charge attacks and see. So if I'am going to use widespread normal attacks, Dual Ichor is the way to go?

i wouldnt say dual ichors is widespread, its just crazy fast especially with the berserker mod (go for crit build on ichors). Widespread i would say jat kittag

This probably isn't the answer you were looking for. But here's my answer.

Build your booben any way you feel like. Just equip a nice penta, put yourself on a ledge, and destroy everything. I can easily solo 20-25 waves before I just get bored. Depending on the strength of your explosives, you can easily go past 30. Solo. No vortex, no bastille.

ODD is an example of the old saying "There is no problem that cannot be solved with the suitable application of high explosives."
