Clan Forums

In past experience I have seen clans in multiplayer games like this

that start a clan forum outside of the official games forums. while this can be good in some cases it

is also very bad. In several of the cases the so called clan forum was a way to steal personal information

identity theft that sort of thing. I would like to see a section in the official warframe forums where

clans can make a clan forum so to speak to keep their clan updated with clan events and so on. With it being

in the official warframe forums, I would feel a lot safer going to a clan forum, then some random web site

someone made for their clan.

Identity theft? If you don't want to put your info, just don't put it. Private info such as your real name is usually optional and you can put a fake birthday. Plus, if the clan website is hosted on enjin.com or something like that, the website admin (clan leaders) can't access your info.

 

If you're that scared, you can just not join a clan.

 

PS: DE can't do it, they'll need to give permissions to the warlord for the forums, etc... They don't have that much time to waste. And if their website plan has limited storage, the extra posts will eat up the storage size remaining.

Maby I can clarify some on what I mean. An example would be the game called Runescape. They have an official forum on their main page

which has a section for clans to make their own forum so to speak. These forums are official forums supported by jagex the maker of the game.

I played Runescape for years but never checked the forums and never will. Probably some nasty things there that we wouldn't want to see here.

I'd like the idea of a clan sub-forums here, but that seems like a lot of extra work for DE and the com mods.  Maybe a clan sub-forum where a clan could create a thread and members can update it?
