TheGuyver
I was thinking of a new game mode for infestations. I couldn't find anything similar in previous threads so here is my idea. As I continue to develop this idea, I will come back and edit this and any feedback is appreciated. It would basically be you trying to get to the evacuation while fighting through a horde of infested. The twist is that one of your party members has been mutated into one of the infested and has transformed into a warframe/infested hybrid monster. This leaves the remaining three to combat with not only the remaining horde but the fourth party member as well. The monster you mutate into will also be determined by your warframe. Another idea for the mission type would be that you have to salvage pieces of a wrecked ship nearby to repair yours leaving you to defend while repairs are taking place after acquiring the required parts. Rhino would turn into something like the Tanks from Left 4 Dead and would be able to charge you. Nova, being a faster frame would be a four legged monster that would still be able to slow and debuff you to an extent for a limited duration. Those are just two examples I could think of for this. They would also get increased stats and a large amount of stamina and speed to compete with people from cheesing to the evac by teleport spamming like an nova or something. They wouldn't be too fast though, but just enough to close the gap. The rewards would also be based on how many people made it to evac, or if the infected frame won. Whether the infected frame wins or loses, you should receive a debuff like the G3 bolt preventing you from becoming infected again. I'm sure we could all use something to dump our 98709760876035325 nano spores into. I feel like this might be an interesting idea, and it would spice up infestation missions. All feedback is welcome on this and sorry if I posted this in the wrong place. Edited March 27, 2014 by TheGuyverOne
DecapitatingJim
Wouldn't work with the lore. Warframes are made from the virus, and the Tenno are able to control it. At least that's what I can gather. Also, PVP type modes would not work, it will come down to who can shoot their one hit killing weapon first, and since I'm guessing the mutant will be melee only.... I think we can all agree that the lore is fairly broken, and if the frames are in fact made from the virus and tenno can control it then it would be possible for them to lose control and for the virus to mutate. As for the PVP, the mutated frames would have improved resistances as well to prevent the mode from being cheesed through and depending on the frame would not be pure melee. True, but for the most part that's accepted as cannon, and pretty sure the Tenno can't lose be infected any further. My point still stands, this game is in no way balanced for PVP. Every direct damage ability would be a near insta-death for the mutant, since armor values do little. Ogris or Penta will one shot it, as a well built one will one-shot next to anything in the game. Soma will cut it down in a second. M-prime will slow, debuff, and since it's infested, the resulting explosions would reduce the mutant to atoms in seconds. Any late game frame/weapon or any heavily formad weapon will result in instant death. You have to remember that a Rhino, with Iron skin active, can still be one shotted easily. It basically comes down to; the game is in no way suited for PVP, balance wise, and making it 3 on 1, regardless of what extra perks that 1 gets, or how many infested buddies there are, would be nothing more than a joke to veteren players.
