WyzaiDDZ Posted March 27, 2014 Share Posted March 27, 2014 We already have the side-missions or optional objectives that appear on random and make the game a more interesting, but I thought it would be a viable idea to expand from that. So, the idea is Optional Challenges - players may choose for themselves an additonal objective that appears on each of the missions they do. The challenges would have ranging difficulties with great rewards for harder ones. Here are some ideas with crude values to give a base idea of what I mean: Easy (this tier could also be ignored as it wouldn't have much impact either way): Get 10 Rifle/Pistol/Shotgun/Sniper kills / Get 5 stealth kills / Solve one cipher / Score 5 headshots / 3 kills in 10 sec. Awards 1000 affinity upon completion. Medium: Get 30 Rifle/Pistol/Shotgun/Sniper/Melee kills / Get 20 stealth kills / Solve three ciphers / Score 15 headshots / Finish in 10 mins / 6 kills in 10 sec Awards 5000 affinity and 1000 credits. Hard: Get 100 Rifle/Pistol/Shotgun/Sniper/Melee kills / Get 40 stealth kills / Score 50 headshots / Finish in 7 mins / No lockdown / Do not die / 15 kills in 10 sec Awards 10 000 affinity, 2 500 credits and a resource. Very Hard: Get 100 Stealth kills / Score 100 headshots / Finish in 3 mins / Do not trigger an alert / Kill 30 enemies with one ability / Kill 25 enemies in 10 seconds with a weapon Awards 15 000 affinity, 5 000 credits, three drops's worth of resources (chance of rare) and a mod (taken from the drop tables of enemies in the mission). On Nightmare or Tower (has a chance to) award an additional reward. Master Difficulty: Get 50 stealth kills without triggering an alert, while making 5 kills in 10 seconds, and finish in 15 minutes. No squad member may die. / Score 70 headshots, kill 3 enemies with one shot and get 10 kills in 10 seconds while finishing in 12 minutes. No squad member may die. / Score 100 kills with any one weapon, kill 20 enemies with one ability and get 25 kills in 10 seconds while finishing in 8 minutes. No squad member may die. / Finish in 3 minutes without taking more than 100 - 1000 damage (depends on mission level). No squad member may die. Awards 10 000 credits, five drops's worth of resources, a rare resource and two mods. On Nightmare or Tower, awards an additional reward. This would have the added benefit of improving stealth gameplay by giving it the rewards it needs. The last difficulty is not necessary, and the "No squad member may die."-part could be moved to Very Hard challenges in case Master Difficulty isn't implemented.
