MechaTails
Yet another weapon only me, the mail lady, and that weird guy down on the corner like, the Dual Cestras! Here's a straightforward build, like most in this game. Most Common Concerns Liek oh em gee they waste ammoz When they're level 0 and require 100 rounds to kill one enemy, of course they're going to waste ammo. When they're spitting 3 bullets per shot, bypassing shields, punching through everything, and you aren't spraying the ceiling, they're very ammo efficient. Recoil! Fire in bursts and the recoil isn't such a problem. It's also best to use them at mid to close range, but you can easily wipe out the majority of a mob at a distance, assuming they don't pull that bullS#&$ where they keep turning on a dime to dodge all your bullets matrix-style. I steadily pull down on the mouse when I'm shooting at full speed, it helps a lot to keep the gun on target. Dey waste teh ammoozz! Sometimes I run out of ammo when I'm too trigger happy (and against higher level enemies obviously), you have to keep in mind you don't need to shoot that much to kill enemies since you're always shooting 2-3 projectiles per pew (or 2-3PPP, if you will lol). Sadly this kinda takes the fun out of them a little because you can't sustain long pew-pew sessions like you can when they're weaker and slower. Max Ammo Mutation is great for giving you a near limitless supply of ammo. Ammo packs are a good alternative if you want to squeeze in more damage, you definitely don't need both. Reload! You get 140 rounds per mag with Ice Storm, plus 210 in the reserve. You only have to reload like twice, so reload time is a non-issue. And if you still think it's an issue then just find a rock to hide behind while you reload, you pansy lol. Without Ice Storm, the mag holds 100 shots, which is still great considering Multishot. Other stuff! •The status chance is alright, you shoot enough projectiles to inflict stuff regularly. •You don't really need more than 1.8m Punch Through, even around 1.4 is just as effective. •Cestras have travel time on the projectiles, so remember to aim where the target is going to be, not where it currently is. ====================== Secura Dual Cestra The above info also applies to SDC, with the added bonus of a Radiation Supernova from the Sequence Effect, making higher level mobs more manageable. With the introduction of the new Bore mod, I built them a little differently. Now they have an emphasis on Puncture + whatever elements I need. •Pistol Ammo Mutation is sweet if you don't want to keep dropping Ammo Packs. With this build I rarely run out of ammo, I can even indulge in long pew pew sessions. •Viral + Puncture is nice, it lowers the damage enemies do by 30% and cuts their HP dramatically. You could replace one of the Ice mods for Electric/Fire to proc stuns/ignition. •Reload time becomes less of an issue at higher levels thanks to the Radiation effect. Kill a heavy and his minions and you've got yourself a Radioactive blast that makes the whole room fight each other, giving you time to find cover and reload. Add a semi ranked Primed Heated Charge to get over 1000 damage: Edited May 30, 2015 by DarkTails

MechaTails
Yessss, I'm enjoying them, I hope more people use them so we can get more opinions on how to use them. Man that was an awkward sentence lol Edited April 23, 2014 by DarkTails
MechaTails
I updated the topic with pics of my current build, all the theory in the first post still stands. What's annoying is that status chance went from 22% to 20.2%. A ninja nerf by DE? :(
__Kanade__
They were my weapon of choice until I crafted the Castanas, my only secondary that can go way past lvl 60 enemies and still kill them with one or two Castanas and they aren't even forma'd. LasersGoPewPew
that is a glorious build; but it just seems like a straight forward build for most secondaries that are meant for dps.
Archistopheles
I can't use them without a recoil reducer mod, but if you're just looking for damage-number-porn, then that build does the job.

I'm surprised I haven't used Castanas much. I used to go rock climbing (they look like rock climbing gear) and I love explosives, so you'd think I would like them more lol. that is a glorious build; but it just seems like a straight forward build for most secondaries that are meant for dps. That's because it is a straitforward build lol. You can't fight high level enemies unless you stick to flat out damage unfortunately, so it makes the builds samey. I wish there were more kinds of modifications we could make, but Warframe will probably never be that kind of game. I can't use them without a recoil reducer mod, but if you're just looking for damage-number-porn, then that build does the job. You get used to the recoil, just remember to tap the trigger, not hold it down, that helps a lot with controlling them.
Neo3602
That's a pretty nice build, thanks for sharing, I like the Dera as the primary choice though if you were going for a full thematic build then then weapon of choice would be the supra or tetra. MechaTails
I use Dera/Dual Cestras/Lecta/Banshee for everything, sometimes I use the Marelock just because it's fun to use (and it hits enemies like a runaway spaceship lol)
Garuger
Yeah how about no that is an average built because you are not going to use them much ,these kind of weapons need ammo mutation the weapons would benefit more if the were like : Built 1 for void Built 2 Built 3 Also Max your lethal torrent Edited May 6, 2015 by [DE]Danielle Added spoilers to ease up on the scrolling :)
SilverHazzes
Great pair of weapons, I am not using them because I am liking more the Dex furis but I think the cestras could be one of the best weapons to slay hordes of Grineer specially. They require user´s skill to do that but if you master that recoil and know how to manage shooting targets you won´t run of ammo. Ammo efficent is a issue most of the times for players that didn´t already master the auto-fire sidearms. And if you don´t have a way to counter the ammo costs with skills we have max ammo mods, amo mutation and the pistol scavenger aura. Using two of that mods you probably won´t have ammo issues. Oops, forgot about the Dex Furis, they look cool. :) Yeah, once you get a handle on the Cestra's you can free up mod slots by not needing ammo mods or the recoil reducer. I use Steel Charge as my Aura to pump up my Lecta. @Garuger: No thanks. I use my Dual Cestras exclusively and they get me to level 80 enemies just fine, no point going any farther. Yopee
status chance went from 22% to 20.2%. A ninja nerf by DE? :( Pretty sure that's just DE finally addressing the multishot mess in the weapon UI screen. I use dual cestra solely for punching lasers into as many grouped up enemies as possible, not for killing them fast. And not letting go of the left mouse button either. I find joy in the process, not the result: 399 max ammo

Unsurprising, seeing as everything else is around 25K rep, a 100K rep thing isn't going to be a reward, people will go for it no matter what. Unless you're the Red Veil. Really annoying part, I ranked up the day AFTER that change -.- Edited December 9, 2014 by Warriorrogue

I didn't pick Perrin as a syndicate because Steel Meridian has more trade bait lol. You can trade the Marelok for anything you want.
