Regarding Stat Helmets

The Stat Helmet discussion is a big topic right now, and I hope that DEchanges their stance on how they they should work. After reading lots of forum posts, I'm going to essentially list the various solutions to Stat Helmets.

1. Leave it how it is- Some people actually like how it is right now. The old 'classic' frames have unique stat modifiers that help them stay relevant with newer frames, but the new frames also get cosmetic customization. Theoretically this works well, but I believe that the Rhino Prime issue played a large part in DE's decision. Maybe Prime frames shouldn't be able to use helmets (or at least they can't get their boosts) so that unprimed frames are still useful.

2. Separate stat alterations from helmets- I actually like this idea a lot. In addition to an Aura slot, frames could have a helmet slot where you choose a new helmet mod to equip. Some people might mention drop dilution, but you could make the mods available on the market and leave the helmets as alert rewards. Helmets would be equipped normally while the mods would go in the new slot. The advantage of using mods is also demonsrated by the ability to make certain stat alterations only usable by certain frames. For example, if you had a helmet mod that worked like Trinity's Aura helmet (+ power duration, - health) you could make that helmet mod only usable by Trinity. The one disadvantage I do see with this solution is the complexity of distributing these mods to players who have the helmets already, and adding the new slot to Warframes.

3. Remove all stats- This would level the playing field for all players, but players who own the stat helmets need to be compensated. If this does happen it hopefully won't be a repeat of the Legendary Core incident (I know helmets aren't tradeable, but still.)

4. DE's solution- This seems to me like an addition to an existing problem. Wraith and Vandal weapons, Founders gear, Legendary cores, event mods, and Prime Access gear all distinguish new players from old. Adding stat helmets to that list would only make Warframe less inviting for new players. (Before I get flamed I know all of the items I listed all have different circumstances, namely Founders and Prime Access, but that doesn't change the fact that they all distinguish new players from old, and those who can afford Access and those who can't.)

EDIT: I forgot one part of DE's solution. If DE carries out their current plan, I would like it if extra stat helmet blueprints that are owned became tradeable. This would help stop whining from happening, because the helmets would still technically be available, and it removes the need to compensate players who have extra stat helmet blueprints.

Please discuss, and if you have an idea that I didn't include feel free to post it here!

Nice post but for me to answer I would say...
1. I disagree with.

2. Could work but needs more info or detail to explain abit better.

3. I agree with this but my idea I posted somewere would be to move the stats to Prime Warframes only and have helmets cosmetic only as so far helmets are half and half when you look at new Warframes that have no stats and Prime Warframes are no differnent than normal except the Testing Rhino Prime.

4. I totaly agree with and should NOT happen.

interesting...

1. I don't agree here, the current playing field of helmet stats is already imbalanced, hence why it's being changed.

2. I've seen a lot of possible suggestions similar to this that seems to be the best solutions so far for everyone. If diluting the drop table with more mods is an issue maybe it could be something like the slot uses warframe mods but you only gain half the benefit of the card.

3. I personally would not mind if this happened, but I think they aren't doing this cause of possible rage problems some players have with their precious stat helmets.

4. I'm on the side that this should not happen. Helmet stats are already imbalanced, this will only make it worse by limiting stat helmets to those who already have them. Stat advantage exclusives should never happen.
