Interception Guide

Question

Well I have seen lots of threads complaining about the Earth interception, so I recently joined a mission to check out what it was all about, I did a few carry runs, and realized that these missions are F*kn hard. I'm making this guide to help newer players get through the missions easier and making it easier on the players carrying.

 1.Find a carry

the earth interception missions are notoriously difficult, a carry will make your life easier but isn't at all required.  you can also find a party in recruiting, make sure to organize yourselves and know what everyone's roles are.

 2. Get a clan

Usually clans are populated by helpful individuals who can carry you or give you tips/help you farm they will really help you in the long run.

 3. Frames and powers,I'll only go over 4 as the average beginner has access to only the first 3+rhino.

Excal: you want slash dash for mobility and radial blind as a cc it will give you time to take care of enemies, recover, or escape. you will want to boost up your shields, run speed and power range.

Mag: Your first skill will be your friend spam it whenever there is a group of enemies.

Loki: decoy will take agro off you for awhile, if you feel too squishy stay invisible, radial disarm is also helpful for managing damage taken, switch teleport with decoy to get out of tough situations. or to save an area.

Rhino: Iron skin is a must, and stomp for cc.

Remember even if you have a carry it'll be a burden if you keep dying so try your best to keep yourself alive and save some energy for getaways.

Note for carries: As a carry I noticed Nyx or vauban are ideal, as they provide the most effective CC to keep the team alive, the high dps frames were okay but I couldn't sustain the energy required to carry and focus on keeping myself alive much less the team. A good trinity also works but it's hard to work with the energy drops, not to mention you can still get knocked down.

4.Defending

To defend an area you need to make sure enemies don't get to the consoles, enemies at the consoles are a priority target.  Tag areas if you need help, and watch your flanks as enemies can come from other directions

5. Capture points

If you can't capture all 4 don't worry, you only need 3 for most of the game to win this. each area has a spawn point close to it, if you only have A,B,C for example, enemies from D will attack A and C so be ready to take on extra enemies in those locations, but make sure some one is going back to B to clear enemies every now and then.

Also enemies spawn ridiculously fast on these maps so you'll want to have 1hk weapons or high dps weapons

6. Communicate

Communicate with your team it is necessary, use way points(g), chat, or voice if you have to.

Weapons:

And MK-1+single lato aren't useful here, before you get to this point try to max out your equipment at 30 and replace them with upgraded vesions(aklato, regular braton, not the skana) and ideally you'd want to have some weapons already built (galatine, karak, grakata, paris, etc.)  and upgraded with basic damage, fire rate, or critical mods.

There are many great guides on youtube such as mogamu, a#$$guyplays, and peopleschoicegaming regarding weapons and modding.

Special mention to the Zorens as they are one of the most useful weapons utility-wise, add max attack speed. In game sprint, jump, do an air spin attack, and you will travel far and fast. Useful for team revives, and getting to hot zones fast.

General Grineer tips

By now you should know headshots do extra damage. Grineer have hitscan weapons and the AI is deadly accurate if you stop moving, so keep moving, side strafing will keep you alive longer as you should also already know. You'll want to build piercing, viral(cold+ toxic),radiation(fire+electricity) and corrosive(toxic+electricity) damage. Grineer are also a great faction to use radial disarm and radial blind against, as their weapons are ranged and you will effectively remove most of their weapon threat.

Need a clan?

Go to the clan recruiting section in these forums. For anyone interested my clan Heroes of the Lotus is recruiting, we are looking for mature, chat active/friendly, people willing to help each other in the game. PM for more details.

oy, i was about to create a topic but .. you already made one :)

so : perhaps people are not familiar with domination games (arathi for some of us)

basic rules : 4 points, in a team of 4. so, basic logic :

- if you are 2 on the same point, one is vulnerable.

- if you have a wide range power, move quickly to the center sometimes, this is a low level planet and non geared people swarm on it, if you can help them a bit ... it s a win-win.

- hold your ground, the spawnpoints point are really easy to control the upper ones are perhaps a bit easier to hold, if you are a bit light geared, go here :)

-if you have a good setup .. try to go on the lower levels, specially the crumbled one, this thing can be tricky, same for the indoor one, the console is hidden and sometimes, you will lost it

- you can ambush a load of then in the 2 tunnels, if you feel safe on your point, try to mine with castanas (mines. here i said it, we need more of passive weapons like that. this is awesome.)

-if you have to res someone, try to put a control on your point, a radial blind, a chaos, a bastille anything that can slow them down a bit

just with that, you should be able to succeed at least turn 1, this is probably the most entertaining game mode, and if we dont quickly master it ... DE will probably tweak it :/

btw if a DE goes here ... if you can put one of these on the infested planet when they will come back, it will probably makes us giggle a bit :)

Something I always see missing from these guides, and I feel is an absolutely critical point:

An alarm will sound at the station being hacked by an enemy.

I've beaten maps literally by hiding in the boxes and coming out just to take out hackers whenever I hear the alarm, lol.

true :) i didnt tried yet but im pretty sure dropping rad castanas in front of consoles can be entertaining, something like

God-mode from trinity is also an incredibly effective way to carry. It eliminates the possibility of your teammates going down. I carried quite a bunch of squads, spamming Blessing while I guarded B and C terminals with Ogris. It is good as I can fire rockets to the D spawn point and the other spawn point, thus I can support most of the terminals from that area.

I solo farmed Interception (Lua) a lot. It was actually extremely trivial to solo up to the point where mobs were level 100+ before the Tethra update. I literally would cook dinner while solo farming it, it was broken due to afk+spawn mechanics.

It's a bit harder now, but you can still solo pretty well if you know what you're doing. Can't afk anymore, though.

As a carrier, I recommend you Rhino if you intend to be a carrier too.

Stomp will do the damage, IronSkin will keep you alive.

I don't know if you need Intensify to oneshot the non-heavy units.

When you begin, you only have 50 energy. Don't use Ironskin. Run close to the middle and use Stomp.

You don't need a very good weapon to succeed with a Rhino. You can level yours. If you are not too sure, keep at least one good firearm.

Other than Rhino, a Trinity with an AoE weapon is a good choice. I am not fond of the Ogris, especially if you can't afford to die.

Energy restore are useful. So is a good efficiency build.

If you see your teammates rushing inside the tunnel or standing at the exit, tell them gently to stop.

You know the only people I ever seen really complain back then about Interception being too easy were those that actually played in groups, and not those that Solo it, as I solo lots of things, and it provided me with a decent challenge back then, but with this increase or decrease, or whatever they did to tailor to those people really ruined it for a Solo player like myself, and its like basically forcing me to have to play with others.

Frankly 50 enemies appearing in like 10 seconds is just vicious, and why do I have to always bring a Red 100% down to a white 0, and up to a White 100%, when the enemy can just push a button, and get an instant 100%????  Maybe I just want to push a button.

Its not even about getting better, or having high level mods, frames etc.  They basically make these levels revolve around veterans, and levels are mostly tailored towards people of higher stature....

Frankly, I'd rather they take anything that has to do with Defense, Interception etc, and move them off to a side node, and just let me have my Spies, Deceptions, Exterminations, and Rescues, so I can get to my bosses, and move on to other planets, so I can start farming stuff I want to farm....
