Lore: Prime V. Regular

Let me make sure I have this clear in my mind.  Am I right in thinking that Prime versions of weapons and frames are the original version made by the Orokin.  Primes were created by the Orokin and then abandoned in the Void.  These Prime items were later found by the Lotus and or her agents and brought back to the Origin system.  The Primes were then copied and/or mass produced, resulting in the inferior regular versions of said weapons and frames since the originals could not be copied perfectly.

Is that the correct read of Primes v. regulars?

Yes, that's pretty much confirmed - Prime gear is pretty much set in stone in terms of lore.

Ironically, we know much about the Primes but we don't know anything about the current Warframes really:

Where/how did the Tenno get them?

Why didn't the Tenno freeze themselves wearing their old Prime gear?

Not quite I would say.

We wake up in our regular suits, not the prime ones. Implying that we the Tenno designed and built our standard frames before we went to cryo sleep, after we took down the Orokin.
It's actually a little ridiculous and makes us sound drunk.
we took off the old prime suits, to wear our own ones as a symbol of freedom I guess, and then when we wake up we go back and...put on our old prime suits.

We had a party, got in to a fight, killed some guys, ruined our good clothes so we had to put on new ones and then crashed in bed. We woke up in the morning feeling weak and disoriented with no idea what was going on around us and then spend forever trying to find what we did with our good clothes.

I thought the Tenno were not frozen in any gear.  Don't the cryopods contain Tenno without their suits?

what i find stranger is that the lotus (probably backed up a small armie of scientists, engineers and soldiers) found these warframes, this ancient technologie, was able to recreate them, but couldn't find a sngle thing to improve upon and instead started manufactoring inferior versions...

"Down with the Orokin! Brothers and sisters, shed your symbols of oppression!"

*Ten billion gazillion years later*

"Oh shi-! Guys, it turns out everyone hates us in the future and we really could use our old gear back..."

Orokin scientists/engineers/whatever were just that much more awesomer. However, lore-wise the Tenno are the most sophisticated faction when it comes to reproducing Orokin technology still; neither the Corpus nor Grineer have yet been able to produce either Warframes or Prime gear.

I'm thinking that the original Prime Frames were created by the Orokin for the Tenno they turned into soldiers first - the ones they sent out first to battle the Sentients. As the war raged on between the Sentients and the Orokin's new weapon, though, the Tenno began to develop their own society, their own terms, and through that redesigned the frames for newer members.

Of course, that would all depend on HOW LONG the war went on after the Tenno joined the fight. Given that the Orokin were right on the verge of being crushed, though, I think we can safely assume that it took A LOT longer than even just a handful of years.

I always thought that when the Tenno went rogue against the Orokin that the prime suits would of become scarce as the Orokin no longer existed or stopped making the warframes, so only older or high ranking Tenno wore the prime suits while the lower ranking or newer Tenno got the new suits.

It seems to pretty much be all about Forma and Orokin Cells really.

A lot of the Warframe tech looks to be understood by the Lotus/Tenno, but we're told that the main problem with re-creating working Orokin tech is finding the critical components that we can't replicate. The Prime equipment has the typical Orokin gold trim, forma is gold, prime equipment generally had better/different polarities like forma-applied non-prime equipment.

It is possible the Orokin would have some form of control or similar over Prime equipment _if_ they were still around. Certainly if my theory regarding the natrure of the Orokin/Forma and the "living metal" of the Dark Sector Technocyte virus.
