Helion Missiles: Cheap Difficulty All Over Again.

First the napalms bronekly large AoE that even made any sence, the Scorch's INSANE damage and Charge's stagger on hit. All of them fixed but now we have to put up against this.

 

Ok trying to kill to birds whit one Stone i started lving my Saryn on Phobos. Of course i only started in Phobos after she was Rank 6 so i had some space to add some durability mods and at least an extra skill (the decoy) now one problema i always had whit Helions is how the Missile barrage had a chance of nocking you down for a few seconds, nothing big.

 

Now some reason Helions have a 100% nockdown on their Missiles and when they feel like being $&*^s and spam 3, 4 or sometimes 5 barrages in a row its pretty irritating that you die just because you can get up since the missiles keep nocking you down over and over AND OVER!

 

Think about when Chargers had 100% stagger on their attacks, if one got close to you more often than not you would get stunlocked to death and there was nothing you could do about it. Why it was removed? CAUSE IT WAS CHEAP. You died just because the game cheated and due to your mistakes.

 

I always said that games to be fair death should be a result of a player's fault. Got 5 sawblades in the face and now your bleeding to death? you could just keep your distance from the evicerator and Dodge his blades, Napalms furning you to death? you can just move away from the fire hazard and the "bombs" are kinda slow. Helions on the other hand? you died because hes god and you die when he feels like it.

 

Dont get me wrong i love the Helions' concept, a lancer whit high mobility thanks to his jetpack, a welcome challenge since they tent to move around trying to Dodge your shots but the constant nockdown of his missiles added to the fact that they do it when up in the air AND because is rare for them to miss cause the rockets home on you and they use it in open áreas like Phobos and Earth is just agrabating and breaks the balance. And thats just when your dealing whit one like in earth but if you DARE to try Survival or Phobos and more than one of them deside to pop up? your screwed! cause when one fo them finish toying whit you nocking you around like a puppet the other one will continue to toy whit you.

 

Sure alot of you Rhino/Soma mainers may not know any of this or ignore it since either your Rhino skin too good for CC or because you just facerolled everyone whit the soma, or hell you havent even faced them cause your too busy farming the void and only the void. But what about the normal people like me, as normal as a pyromaniac chicken ninja can be, who are either lving up their new Weapon/frames on earth or come to Phobos for the first time to see the team boss fight. Hell think about the new players getting on Earth that is suposed to be a low lv planet, just to be greeded whit stunlocks over and OVER AND OVER! This is just a cheap dificulty spike.

 

A way to fix it:

Remove the homing, make it a straight shot so they actually have to aim the dam things. Give it some kind of noise so we get noticed that Helions are in the air shooting missiles and most important instead a small nock down over and over and over and OVER AND OVER! make it so the first missile hit can nock you back far. Like the distance of an unranked Slash dash or something, not too far but far enough so you can actually feel the hit and react acordingly.

 

I think this way Helions will become a good challenge while still being your fault if you die and not because some cheap mechanic.

It is pretty annoying when it does that, but you can dodge them too. Run the opposite way the missiles are coming and they'll usually missile since they can't switch direction immediately. Also, once you see one fly up, run out of it's range and gun it down. Helions are a priority target, take them out as soon as you see them. Another thing is that if you are rank 6, you might wanna come back later when you are about 12 maybe. Once you learn how they move and attack you should be fine.

@HandsOfnArtist My Saryn is Rank 8 but i do have a Rank 30 Ember adn Valkyr. I know how to play im just saying its unfair they have such a good CC. And im not counting when they swarm you in Phobos who tent to appear when you least expect them and since you cant hear them they will most likely nock you down over and over and all the grineer around have PLENTY of time to gun you down.

At first encounter helions were shock for me aswell, just like evicerators with crazy bleed proc, but both of these arent as bad as arc traps wich will kill you without even warning, atleast with helions and evicerators you can hear them coming (they tend to talk in grineer language and its pretty easy to tell when  they are nearby) best tactic for both is just take cover, wait for them to fire and then strike when they are reloading their weapons.
