Question

So I was wondering what provokes instantaneous death?

(Those deaths that you don't even see the bleed out countdown)

I know playing solo leads you always to insta death.

But when you are on a squad it is strange to append.

I was playing with another guy, in a defense, he was down and bleeding out, when I suddenly die too and get a insta death. Is that normal?

Him being down, nobody is left to revive me, even so, he also doesn't have nobody left to revive him, but he stays bleeding out.

Even though this "kinda" makes sense, I still feel it's very strange.

Specially cause I had never seen the game do this before.

Bleed out drops hate only, and it does not protect you from anything still heading at you at the point you were down. As the above post mention, the heavy napalm Grineer cause instant death often.

From a coding stand point, it might just be the damage compounded quicker than it could recognize the player as being in a bleed out state.  In regard to the "but he had no one to revive him either" comment, I think DE wanted to lessen the amount of damage a squad can do while be invulnerable, but just being able to move less.  With the last member of a squad instant dying while other are bleeding out, it makes people Think about reviving, and removes a possible strategy of "well, its a stationary objective, lets not care about dying, and all go into a bleed out state, and still protect the objective for 10 seconds".  Personally, I would like dying (actual dying, not just bleeding out) to be more of a hindrance.  Maybe giving people the normal 4 revives per frame for the first 1-2 weeks of their account, and then reducing the revives to 2 or 3 per frame could be nice.  Gives room to people starting off, and gives people with more than one frame a reason to truly think about try to revive someone, or playing very aggressive.

Yah, maybe that was it.

For comments above, no napalms on that map, but plenty of bombards, either way I didn't really see what shoot me down.

How about the opposite? Once, I got oneshot while casting blessing, and ended up alive but stuck in the bleedout animation for the rest of the match. :(

Instant death?

Killed by Mr Spookums, G3, or Madam Zanuki

in addition, while playing with people. if you are the ONLY PERSON that is NOT DOWNED you will get insta-blapped by anything when you are reduced to 0 health. There has to be at least 1 other tenno with 1 or more HP for you to have a bleedout timer

Valkyr would like to say hello.

Trinity would also like to greet OP. With that being said, AOE damage, like everyone else has said. If you deal enough damage within a short amount of time, you'll instantaneously die. That, or if you're out of revives and you get downed...
