Zeddite
Something every war needs, and war is everywhere in Warframe. I'm talking about something that I'm really missing, something that not even the sturdiest Warframe could withstand. To make it short, that thing are Heavy Machine Guns. Q: "But we already have the Gorgon and the Supra, what about them?" Yes, well, those are Light Machine Guns actually, characteristics of the heavy ones include being too heavy to be portable. Usually being mounted in some kind of position of strength, sporting enormous firepower and posing a large threat even for experienced Tenno wearing heavy Warframes, they would need strategy (use some damn cover) and teamwork (advance while I draw his fire) to get past them. While in Defense missions they could be used as an asset and manned by Tenno, in most others they would be a hindrance as you only need to get past them quickly, whereas in Invasion missions it would depend on wether you joined the attacking faction or the defending one. In any way, I think Heavy Machine Guns would benefit the tactical element of this already great game. Please DE, consider this. Yours sincerely, Zeddite
CyberJellos
DE is already working on heavy machine gun turrets, but it sounds like they won't be out for a while due to melee 2.0 and other things.
direcyphre
HMGs are more a staple of emplacements, which are coming for Grineer soon. They are functionally not man-portable, despite people attempting to shoot an M2 from the hip. LMGs being the primary class of automatics that are mobile, man-portable suppressive fire. SomethingCrazy
Yes DE stated they will be adding "interactive environments." The hacking mao's were part of this but slipped early. They showed some screen shots in Dev stream 22 or 23 I think which included I think a picture of a turret.
XenosInfinity
Interesting idea, but I think with an AI in the driver's seat they'd default to 'shoot whatever is closest' rather than 'fire at that one over there'. More likely is we'd end up sniping the operator out of their seat to shut it down.
HAYABU5A
a grineer HMG emplacement would be epic where without a trinity a straight approach would be suicide and majority of the time you have to flank them or bide your time for the right moment ++++++++1 i dont think the corpus should have one thou, they shouldnt have a heavy energy weapon emplacement, they should have some alternate heavy weapon like a juggernaut extremely slow moving combat armor manned by a crewman just leave the HMG emplacement as a grineer thing (and void corrupted version)
