Ammo Efficiency+Ammo Drops+Spare Ammo

(edit:this has been suggested before but its been a really long time and i would love to hear new players reaction :)

there are like 2 extremes now ingame

u can carry a ogris and u can carry 540 more rockets to reload

and then there is dex furis and you have 100 rounds per mag and 210 extra bullets to reload

so u can carry 540 rockets but only 2 mags for the dex furis,

im suggesting a system that each weapon has each own spare ammo(i dont mean add rockets ammo drop etc) and not just a general 540 for primary weapon and 210 for secondary

something like

orgris has 5 per mag so u can carry like another 100 since its a primary (5*20=100 for spare ammo)

for dex furis it has 100 per mag so another 4 mags to reload aka 400 i think thats ok (100*4=400 (maybe 5 or little more would be better))

(lower cause is secondary but please if you have a better idea please post it)

for ammo pick ups keep it as it is with a minor tweak.

make each pickup have a percentage of the currently weapon's magazine used

for example

orgris: 20+(1/5 of the mag)=21

for the dex furis 20+(1/5 of the mag)=40

anyway that my idea to make ammo inefficient weapons a little better

ty :)

I burst my shots so I haven't ran out of ammo on my dex furis until around the 15 or so minute mark on Apollodorus, Mercury except these are low leveled enemies. With my Brakk, I rarely go under the 200 ammo mark. I rather be ammo efficient than spray and hope to kill it. I haven't really had problems with ammo since I carry ammo refills but I don't really use them.

This = yes

Although making each weapon have it's own capacity would be a task since there are so many weapons. maybe there could be several capacities within each category to match whether they are use bullets sparingly, regularly, or empties-the-mag-in-less-than-a-second. For example:

Slow fire rifles have 150 bullets spare

Medium fire rifles have 300 bullets spare

Fast fire Rifles have 450 bullets spare

Of course, this is just an example. But it would be somewhat simpler and easier to balance.

Actually, it shouldn't be that complicated. Just change a few max ammo values.  But I guess it depends on how they programmed it. In the Unreal Engine, each weapon uses an ammo class, and that ammo class is where the pickup ammo amount and max ammo data is held. So if thats the case then it might be a problem.

I honestly think it should be an X-Clips for a weapon based system.  And remake the ammo-capacity mods to add 1-2-3-4 "clips" of ammo extra or whatnot.

It makes much more logical sense to me to be honest.  We can carry like, 2 clips of a fully modded Gorgon, but roughly 100 clips of the Torid? o~O
I mean, make it scale with clip-size as well.  It (from a logical perspective) would be a few math calls, for all I've been made aware.

This way, you can have a 200 round Gorgon clip or a 200 round Soma clip and have 3, 4, maybe 5 extra clips worth of ammunition. Bump up the price on the extra-ammo mods (equip costs here) and balance it out some, so that way you don't spend all your ammo in your first clip or whatnot.  *shrugs*

No. Ammo efficiency is a trade off for some weapon. What they need to do is adjust overlay low secondary ammo pool. If not, automated pistol will always had ammo issue and can never be used as a standalone weapon.

Well, to an extent, yes and no.  I mean, Vipers /obliterate/ their ammo stockpile in a matter of 20 seconds of sustained fire /unmodded/. Max-fire-rate modded and a tap of the trigger and the clips empty.  It only makes sense to give us some beef and buff ammo crates a little bit.  The Dex Furis are just ugly with their AC-to-kill ratios.  Vipers still lead the pack, however.

I think that the ammo amounts for those weapons does need serious adjustment. I stopped using the Ogris because it messed with my mind to have 540 rockets but only 210 for my Dex Furis. I would also like to see some of the machine guns have bigger clip sizes to begin with. Like the Tetra, Supra, or the Soma. The idea of a machine gun is that you don't have to reload it for a long time by default, and even the modern 100 shots per second machine guns last reasonabily long on sustained fire (on long continuous chains of ammo). The main point of ammunition is a sound one and I think that it should definitely be adjusted and carefully considered for each weapon individually.
