TennoSimons
I believe this idea may have been raised in Design Council discussions regarding generic warframe ability mods, but with the release of the Excalibur Proto Armor with its obvious shout-out to Dark Sector, I feel compelled to suggest that the Dark Sector suit abilities would be excellent candidates for the first few generic ability mods available to any warframe (and it would make sense lore-wise in explaining why Hayden Tenno, who wore Excalibur armor, could, for example, become invisible or deploy a Volt-like shield). So without further ado: 1st ability: Energy Pulse: Once activated, the next shot of whichever weapon is equipped (whether melee or ranged will discharge all elemental damage that the weapon has been modified with in an area of effect. With Glaive type weapons only, the user can manually detonate by hitting reload, much like with Penta or Castanas. 2nd Ability: Pulse. *EDIT* SHIFT: Just a basic invisibility. Cannot be cast in the air (like Loki) and, unlike Loki or Ash, does not confer a melee damage bonus (so this power would not trump Ash and Loki's second ability). 3rd Ability: Shield. Looks like Volt's shield and has a similar defensive effect (lacks the offensive bonus of Volt's 3rd), but is carried in front of the Tenno and subject to a limited number amount of heath. While active, only one sidearm or melee attacks can be used (like when carrying a data-mass). I think these abilities would be cool, strengthen the ties to Dark Sector even further (without needing to be explicit about it) and wouldn't step on the toes of any existing powers by outclassing them. Let me know what you think. Edited March 29, 2014 by TennoSimons

SniffYoBunnies
How about a few other ones: Telekinesis-Can pull a single "common" unit to the user. Jump Port-The Tenno jumps forward into a portal that teleports him to his destination.Limited range and takes long time to cast, also unable to be cast in air. Energy Flash-Blinds a small area for a few seconds.
Edgedemon
i would rather have Volt shield move with you and make the general a static shield. even more there could be a mod to make "that guard button no one really use" deploy a shield while pushed, that is you guard or attack never both, and to balance the augmented defense make it so if they break your shield it knocks you down. in fact i'm gonna start threads for both suggestions now. TennoSimons
I wouldnt name the first ability energy pulse, and then call the second one pulse. Thanks for the correction. Edited original post and restored second ability to Pulse. I didn't make up the names for the powers, I believe these are what these powers are called in Dark Sector. I chose these three powers because - although Hayden has other abilities - these, I seem to recall, are the only three powers that use up energy points (which work slightly differently in that game, in that they appear as lights on Hayden's arm or something but the two systems are analogous enough). While on the subject, the other abilities were mostly Glaive abilities, and I think they would work super well as more Glaive mods. As Dark Sector fans will tell you, Powerthrow was already an obtainable Dark Sector glaive ability. Other ones like Aftertouch might be unworkable in a game like Warframe (or too complicated to justify the inclusion - or not, what do I know?) But some of those Dark Sector Glaive abilities would be super cool to include as Glaive mods. I am thinking here of ''Steal'', which was used to retrieve distant enemy weapons, but could now be used to retrieve distant energy, health ammo or life support drops or mods. And especially of Energy Trap, which allowed Glaive to take on additional elemental damage by exposing it to that element (say, by thowing the glaive into an enemy being affected by an elemental status proc, or by throwing it into an arc trap to get bonus electricity damage on the next throw). But I digress....
