Cronus

Question

I have been told by the develpers that the drop chance of Cronus only continues to drop to a certain amount. does anyone know what that might be? I have now done captain vor(solo) well over 60+ times, so it seems very unlikely that it stops at anything above 3% drop chance. today alone I just finished 33 consecutive runs with out brake all solo and I didnt get a single cronus BP. So does it stop at 1% if so that just seems a little unfair more so if it stops at something lower.

I am mastery rank 10, have every warframe, and 70 weapons(141 slots), so I wanted to get it for the mastery.

I think the more you fight him, the less of a chance he'll drop it. and what JRMC said about the credits.

Wiki'd it for confirmation.

  • On Update 7.8, the Cronus Blueprint was only a guaranteed reward the first time Tolstoj is completed and the chance for it to drop exponentially decreases each run afterward. This was put in place to prevent credit farming. This was then changed, as weapon drops are now obtainable by chance upon completing Assassination missions along with the Warframe component drops.

Cronus, the once common blueprint that was used solely to sell for credits, now it's the rarest weapon in the game.

ya seriously. this is pissing me off a lot. I think they need to change its drop chance a little, I agree it shouldnt be common enough for credit farming, but this is @(*()$ rediculous 60+ runs and nothing

and yes the first time I did the mission I got the blueprint but as a newbie I sold it for credits(dam you learning curve) and then later when I realized i shouldnt have it was to late and I was stuck trying to farm.

so I am asuming no one knows what the drop chance drops to.

The wiki page is potentially misleading ATM, unfortunately. (Which is an improvement; not too long ago it was outright wrong...)

There was an undocumented change recently that removed the guaranteed drop on the first run, since the Seer is now considered to be Vor's 'main' weapon, not the Cronus. The blueprint is now purely a random drop. I would hope that they also removed the exponential-decrease mechanic at the same time - since keeping it in without the guaranteed drop is a horrible design - but I haven't seen anything that would confirm it either way.

Vor is also bugged; for at least some players (me included) he drops no mods/resources/etc. when he is killed. If the Cronus is still using the old pink-orb drop rather than being the end-of-mission reward like the Seer parts, then that would make it impossible to obtain. Again, I haven't been able to find anything that would confirm this either way, and I got sick of running it after a couple of dozen attempts.

I have had warframe support state that it drops just as  dread, or hate(from stalker).

Well, that sucks. Because he is broken atm (as mentioned above) and doesnt drop anything at all, much less the rare blueprints.

Hopefully we can get a fix with U13.
