Focus System ?

What the fighting should be like

All jokes aside what it will probably be like is the Dark knight and paladin System in the game Vindictus, upon reaching Lvl 50 in vindictus you are able to get a special power that will basically make you go into a rage mode which you can use once every hour and lasts for 2 mins. The abilities you use while in the state can be upgraded in its own respective tree.

In warframe i am expecting a similar function where we will be able to use this ability maybe 1-3 times a hour with a moderate duration. in addition to a skill tree using skill points based on mastery rank

Steve already covered the fact that being limited to Focus for even once a mission (what they originally planned) sucked and was no fun at all.

 

It'll be something like a burst limit. Most likely a mechanic in game to actually build up energy or something to activate the mode, and you can just build it up again.

Well going on what the Devs have said (Which is very little) it may work the way you said.

 

It could just as easily be a passive system that improves your Tenno instead of your warframe, or a combination of both or none.

 

We have been told about nothing more than concepts that could just as easily be scrapped as implemented.

It's just another layer of "grind xp until you unlock" after which you, I and everyone else will go for the abilities that do the most damage at which point it is nothing more than a secondary glorified ultimate. If there won't be any damage/efficiency/speed related skills available we would have an actual interesting system with meaningful choices to make, but I'm pretty sure that this won't happen.

It being a burst limit type thing is more than just a concept. They made it pretty clear, that's generally what Focus will is. How it the system works is in that grey area. Not to say it won't include passives in those class trees. They most likely will.

while i was playin one day it logged me out and i saw the main menu again but the inbox was open and it showed i had recieved 99 ancient retributions witch it said they were passive focues so i would assume the focus system will have passive thing rather or not that comes to light.

 

btw the mod increased dmg to infested by 7.5% at base
