Nero9937
if you got the coin you can go with razer, tested most of their headsets and they're fine. the only thing that their only true surround headset is 279.99 CAN $ if you want surround, go with the Cooler Master Storm cirus 5.1, its 100$ for true 5.1 surround (make sure your sound card supports those) http://www.cmstorm.com/en/products/audio/sirus/ if you prefer classic stereo those might be good, but take note that Logitech headsets have a reputation to sacrifice sound clarity for bass... otherwise, take a look at these for stereo : the good ol' kraken pro, same as DE uses in livestreams... http://www.razerzone.com/ca-en/store/razer-kraken-pro EDIT: if you have a particular sound card it would be nice to know... Segolia
If you want the best value for money - don't buy anything labelled as a 'gaming' headset. Companies basically take some average headphones, slap a mic on and mark up the price tremendously. I don't know what your budget is like but I hear Audio Technica's AD700 model is great for gaming - buy a cheap clip on mic for < $10 and you're golden. As for the model you suggested (g230) - I use a logitech g930 headset (basically the cheapest wireless headset I could find at the time) and it seems to be the wireless equivalent of the g230 from some quick googling. If that's the case, they're ok but the sound quality is nothing to write home about. It's basically some average headphones with an ok mic attached and I probably wouldn't pay more than $40 for it (though you could say the same about a lot of gaming headsets).
