I have a potato in all of my sentinels, the extra mod capacity makes the beefier and less likely to die. I'm hoping they add more mods to the sentinels to further increase their survivability. After a while it doesnt cut it when the enemies are lv 70. If not mods a revision on their stats.

Carrier is the best sentinel, i also own Shade and Dethcube, i only use Shade on solo void capture missions and Dethcube is just fun... Carrier is always useful and when those others that you have cooking are ready you can try giving carrier a different weapon, so it's not a lost oportunity actually it's the opposite.

Yeah. A potato will help a Sentinel survive for a lot longer, but you'll still hit a point where some crossfire/splash will take it out pretty quick.

IMO they need to make a few changes;

Double the base shields

Let guardian restore sentinel shields too, but sent shields dont activate it

Let energy orbs heal the sentinel (health orbs thing was a good start but they're usually too rare, or too common and you cant pick them up cause you're at full health)

Change regen mechanics to be more helpful; etc it doesnt activate until you arent taking damage for a few seconds, wont activate while you're downed, etc.

Add a damage reduction mod, like the elemental resistances, for blast damage.

OT: I wouldn't regret adding the potato. A longer living Sentinel is a more useful sentinel, and the extra space lets you fit some extra utility mods like Sanctuary. Carrier is my most commonly used sentinel just for the extra ammo and resource pickups that I might miss otherwise.
