(PSN)bob92985
The PS4 version of warframe has been out for quite some time now and it is STILL nowhere near what I would call thoroughly enjoyable experience. The framerate is still poor most of the time (as even seen on the last Prime time stream) the network connectivity is still unstable and laggy. Even when playing solo yesterday the game lagged and framerate was poor ( I have a 25mb down and 6mb up connection and my PS4 is plugged into Ethernet ). I understand that this is still in beta, but so is the PC and that is damn near flawless in performance (even though my PC is much weaker hardware wise). The PS4 version feels like a cheap port thats just there to help fund the PC version. Now I know some of you will say, well just play it on PC then. Of course that is an option but if I didnt want to play it on PS4 I wouldn't have bought a PS4 or downloaded the game OR spent a lil bit of money on plat to get me a little closer to what I have on the PC. A warframe player is a warframe player regardless of which platform they play on. But in terms of versions I feel like DE is playing favorites and not looking at the community as one warframe community. Not everyone likes PC and not everyone has a PC capable of playing higher end games. So if you are going to develop warframe for PS4, why not get it up to speed to the level of quality that the PC has? The internet is full of articles on how disappointing that the PS4 version is and that it was over hyped. Warframe is an incredible game and doesn't deserve this sort of reputation. Also from what I've seen of DE, they are a company that actually cares about their community. Looking at all the contests, streams, giveaways, Q&As and development direction that was influenced by direct gamer feedback, how could anyone think otherwise? So here is your direct feedback from the PS4 community DE. Any PS4 players that agree with me. Please speak up. Post your comments / concerns. Share your play experiences. Let's help get this sorted so that the PS4 version can be an all or nothing venture and not just a cheap copy. DE is better than that and we deserve more than that. Vargras
Just a note on the connection and lag: Warframe is peer-to-peer. There are no dedicated servers. You lagged because the hosting connection (another player in the same game) was bad.

(PSN)bob92985
I'm sorry but this question is harsh: Are you sure FPS drop is caused by slow internet? From what I've read, yes. It seems the framrate drop is due to lag with the peer to peer connection. I tried to test it by playing solo and with full groups. Most of the time playing solo gets me 60fps consistently. But I started experiencing framerate drops yesterday while playing solo (this does not happen on other games so its not the system). But when playing in groups the framerate is terrible even if I'm the host.

This nearly every single game (of warframe) I play.
Shehriazad
U13 is rolling out big performance increasing fixes...we get them on PC first...but PS4 is supposed to get those fixes once we beta tested them for you guys :).If its only HALF as good as promised...you're going to see improvements. (PSN)Daikon177
Well I try to give DE the benefit of the doubt but its not always easy, theres always a part of me that feels there playing favorites but I know there working with a new console so there still learing how porting warframe for it works I guess. It is very easy to reason that were only a crutch to help fund the pc version though. This debate will probably continue until were on the same update and have alot better performance and then maybe we can finally move on.
franky161316
You have to understand that this game was not originally for ps4 and its a new launch title for de so ofc itsnot ganna be all you want it to be because they have to run sertain measures on it. (PSN)MyTagForHalo
90% of all lag is due to your internet connection. the other 10%is due to the AI, ragdolls, and sheer number of visual effects. DE wants this game to look the same on the PS4, but there are a lot of things (hardware and software) holding them back. You cant complain "im lagging not due to internet connection" and then complain that the game doesnt look as good as the PC does.. Im not going to complain about this game. Especially something i know that they are working on. Hell, even with dumbed down graphics, this game still looks better than most titles. Being able to atleast maintain 30fps would be acceptable right now. But not 10. The ps4 can handle this game I assure you. It just needs to be "told how to" if that makes sense. Wiegraf
To be honest, I was expecting Warframe to run better than it did on PS4. There's a few graphic options you can change already, I'm wondering why not more of them are made available. After all, I personally don't like the color correction applied in Warframe on PC; having it enforced on PS4 would make sense if some other options weren't already there and available to be turned off (that might have changed though : I admit I haven't booted up Warframe on PS4 since the holidays since I'm waiting for the account migration). Nevertheless, I'm sure proper optimisation will come with time; given the small team they have to port the PS4 stuff from PC, I suppose they have much less time and manpower to do both content and optimisation at the same time. The PS4 can run the game fine... it just hasn't gotten there yet. Edited March 31, 2014 by Wiegraf
(PSN)NicoTheSneakyGuy
Host does matter, I solo a Void M Def and it's smooth all the time, I join a friend in his M Def run and my frames drop quite alot, But I know he is far from where I live, If I could get somebody that lives where I do I could further test this. I honestly used to be all about nice graphics with my PC, Then it broke and I got another one, At this point I prefer frames over graphics any day, And now my PC is broke again too. Of course. But it should at least run smooth. I own both new gen consoles and have played most every game on them. Warframe is, I really hate to say it, the worst performing one. So justifying it as "its launch titles" doesn't help as the other launch titles arent having this issue. I want to make it clear that I'm not bashing DE as a company nor am I bashing the game. DE has my respect and would have to do something drastic to lose it. I've given them hundreds of dollars on this great game on PC. All I'm hoping to accomplish here is to give them feedback from a bunch of PS4 players concerning the state of the game and our opinion of it as of RIGHT NOW. I am commenting on the issues that are most affecting my experience and I'm trying to encourage others to do the same. If I had no faith in DE i wouldn't waste my time. But knowing how good of a company they are, I have confidence that they will read this and take it under consideration. That's what Betas are for and as the games community we have a responsibility to speak up and help the Devs work on the issues that we see as important. If we are unwilling to do that then we have no right to complain when something doesn't go the way we'd like.

If its only HALF as good as promised...you're going to see improvements. This is a good thing. But shouldn't the PS4 be receiving these fixes BEFORE the PC? After all its obvious we need them more. I understand the needing to submit for certification and having to wait because of that. But shouldn't they be trying to roll them out at nearly the same time? Or should the PS4 fixes not take priority since the game is so much worse off? PS4 players spend money on warframe the same as PC players do and their money is worth just as much. Llyssa
I do wonder about the PS4 being better than you computer. That's honestly one of the biggest PS4 issues: It's hard to find a computer that isn't. They are trying very hard, but the hardware is quite limited. It's taking time to work on the kinks. The next update is promised to fix a bunch of stuff by changing the way the game handles things at a core level. That should help. I imagine they might need to actually just sit down and spend time focusing solely on performance issues to get things to a "proper" level. That seems a bit unlikely with them still chasing the whole synchronized systems dream. At the very least, hang on for u13. All indications are that it's coming out this week for PC, and as hard as they're working on getting the Sony cert process time down, that means you'll likely have it within a week or so yourself. Until then, I'd tweak different settings to see if you can't get it going faster by changing graphics options. It might not solve everything, but you might be able to give yourself a decent boost, at least.
(PSN)MyTagForHalo
AAA Developers with their launch titles =/= DE and Warframe. Big companies are given PS4 hardware in advance so that they may design the game around it. DE had no such option. They are designing the game around the PC then porting it to the PS4. There is going to be bugs.. They know that it isnt running the greatest. Every patch fixesa few issues (sometimes adding one in...) But imean hey, they DID hotix this last patch xD
(PSN)NicoTheSneakyGuy
I'm quite impressed at the speed we received 12.4, I want to time the day PC gets 13 until we get it, I feel the PS4 dev team just gets better and better.
Enmity666
Weird. I own a relatively weak by today's standarts PC, which i had bought in 2011. And yet, the game runs really smooth on pretty much maxed settings, lol. I usually get 40-70 FPS or more.
Hyunsai
Well, DE shouldn't have overestimated PS4 power. The game can be VERY demanding even for a powerful PC in some big open areas and massive number of enemies. They really need to tone down PS4 graphics to try to maintain 60 FPS in any situation.
