Mr.Lube
I was in a game on Venus earlier today and I happened to see a Mastery Rank 3 with a Boar Prime (One of the most powerful shotguns in the game). I starting thinking to myself and came to realize that this player has made a huge mistake. This game is all about getting upgrades and better weapons. By purchasing this Prime Weapon this player has done what has kept veteran players in the game for almost a year. This player now has no point to craft or buy any other weapon in the market, he/she now has a weapon that can blast through any boss in 20 seconds flat. It defeats the purpose of the game, before Prime Trading came out players had to craft or buy a weapon from the market that was an upgrade from the Mk1 Braton, once they had enough good mods they were able to enter the Void and get some Prime gear. Now players are jumping from 1 to 10 with one small micro-transaction. Prime Trading is a good idea but should be restricted to more experienced players. By doing this, players will have more goals and will therefore play the game and grind more in order to get these weapons. The main reason why people stop playing the game is because they run out of things to do, this could change that.
Un1337ninj4
I can attest to this... I like the idea. At least he didn't get Boltor Prime. Edited April 1, 2014 by un1337ninj4

Dtexas
I think more weapons should be mastery locked in general. Currently there is no real progression in the game, which there should be and mastery rank locking weapons is a good start, can do it for lore missions as well. As you increase in mastery you can access to new and more powerful weapons and newer story/lore missions. You slowly improve your self as a tenno and improve your understanding of whats going on. Warframes should not be mastery locked however.
ensignvidiot
Some of them already do, you should check the Mastery section of the wiki but that only stops you from CRAFTING it, you can still collect all parts+ bp ahead of time.

Ov3rd0se
You don't need the wiki to know something is locked by Mastery rank. All you have to do is go in the Market and look at the weapon or the warframe under the plat purchases and click on it and it will tell you it's locked and what level you need to get it. ViLeDeth
Makes sense, it is a prime weapon - it is also apart of the current state of "end game" that we have.
WildJuice
that's because De keeps injecting new content with old and it's making people get 10x versions of old trash...
Eyeless
You know a lot of this nonsense can happen if they just leach off of Recruiting as well. It's how many new players, who I helped, have come back the next day with an entire new arsenal at their disposal because I personally took them and their buddy (or buddies) under my wing to give them a fighting chance. What you call work (aka getting favorable luck with this horrid RNG system) I call easily waiting around in Recruiting and getting carried through everything, or having a friendly Veteran help them out to get their bearings and a good start. But those new players did exactly what you did. They're grinding for weapon XP, like you did, they're enduring the same crap drops time and time again until they got the weapon, like you did. The only difference here is weapons like the Boar Prime didn't exist when you were at their level probably because you too were just getting started. You too wanted a leg up and may have been assisted by some more experienced players willing to befriend you, and many of you posting in here, soon after finding that group, walked in the next day with a gleaming new Latron Prime with some Frost Prime pieces under your belt for later use. What's so different now? !@#$ nothing. Just that now they're in your same boat with more options available, such as the Boar or Boltor Prime. Yet because you're a higher mastery rank when this new Prime stuff comes out you feel entitled to it because only you who did the same thing but for longer, only you apparently, should get to have nice things, right? Right? Because new players don't get to have fun? Do I need to remind you how underpowered all these "OP" Prime weapons and the market weapon Soma are without properly leveled or obtained mods? Hmm? Sure they could trade for them, but they can't spend their starter plat on trade goods can they? Anyone now can P2W their prime stuff since everything's tradeable or there's Prime Access. So what? It's their money, if they want to BUY that instant gratification then so be it. I don't agree with it but with the way DE is insisting on screwing up the drop tables who has TIME to have fun with this game anymore? I spend more time on the chore it takes to get things to where I can have FUN with my weapon or Frame than actually having fun using it. TL;DR I understand you're upset about Prime Trading, but how does that change the fact that when Tower Keys were implemented newer players were getting Prime Gear anyway by either leeching or getting help? Why shouldn't they get to have some shiny stuff? It's not hurting anyone or upsetting any balance, just your ego, because Prime Trading hasn't changed a thing. New players are still going to get that Prime gear with help from others. Why is this so bad? Edited April 1, 2014 by Hastur609
