(PSN)billy-d-squid
I don't think we are playing the same game... I'll remember to keep my answers shorter in future. The only complaint I have about Volt is the consistency of damage on Overload, in the right place it will lay waste to everything in the room/stun everything for like 30 seconds, while others is does is standard 900 shock damage and stuns for 3 seconds. I'd much rather it do something more in the middle all the time rather than be awesome one time and than be more worth it to cast shock twice to do the same thing. Shock is awesome its consistent in what it does, ok damage on anything not armored, and always stuns. Speed does what it says, and shield is good for become a turret for a bit. Yes, this is the main problem with Overload, it's far too situational and generates diminishing returns after a single use on defence missions. TrashSpider
He more of a map based frame, indoor and full of computers/lights? He is amazing, outdoor? Nah. his first power though is a decent stun lock though, and his shields do provide a somewhat mobile snow globe.
DaWolv
And more good side; you can keep shooting while the animation is still in play. (please don't fix it if it's really a bug) Most of the Nr.1 and/or Nr. 2 Powers now operate the way all of Vaubans powers are, which is they don't interupt any action and play out alongside it. These include (and add more if you know): Antimatter Drop, Shock, Soul Punch, Poison, Fireball, Freeze, and of course all of Vaubans powers. Not sure about Mag. Rhino and Banshee definately are on the short end of that spectrum. Rhino I don't mind being there, Banshee however suffers from it a bit. Back2Topic: I deleted my Volt back in the day because I didn't like his powers: His ability to nuke a room wasn't even close to Nova's, the shield was 'cute' compared to Frost's and the Shock did as much damage as any other #1 Skill. Now however I think he has improved drastically, and if they come around to Volt Prime (which by my estimate must be either the next or second next Prime) I will definately keep him. shut
Volt's slightly underpowered, but can easily be brought up to (or beyond) par if you know how to control him. (Hint: you can cast Shock and Speed while rolling, reloading, and even shooting. Take advantage of this.) His only true issue right now is that his only CC skill, Shock, is unreliable. Enemies performing certain animations (hiding behind walls, tossing grenades, activating any ability, etc.) are entirely unaffected by the stun, which, at high levels, defeats the one and only purpose of the ability. Overload is somewhat lackluster on endgame enemies (including Corpus, whose shields aren't weak to Electricity), and Electric Shield is becoming more and more lackluster with every update that introduces AoE-using enemies, but they're pretty alright for the roles that they're meant for. Once the devs fix the Electric status proc issue, he'll be a pretty darn powerful frame. Edited April 4, 2014 by SortaRandom
