I think I remember reading that Ash's ult would count towards combo numbers. I'm just surprised that they actually have a combo-counter at all though, really.

oh you just misunderstood then. the tier list i just made right now is for the current patch. I was saying who could move up, or who could move down that ladder of viability.. Melee 2.0 could easily change who is as important.

 Roar is a serious teamwide dps boost, the stasis on stomp is good for the entirety of the game. and even if iron skin melts fast, its free damage absorbtion for that split second you might have #*($%%@ up.

Guys, your frame of choice didn't make it to the top tiers, you're butthurt, we get it. OP already stated some people would not agree on this list.

 

Now if we could discuss  which frames will getting the most of the new melee system, that would be cool.

I agree that Excalibur could be extremely good if the melee damage vastly outperforms the most powerful range weapons he can use right now. If not, not much will change.

 

Same with Frost if they bring back Avalanche stun.

 

 

In the end, it's as I always said. As long as guns and powers are more practical, less dangerous and kill groups in less than one second, melee will still be a fun stylish tool and nothing more. UNLESS they make some mobs resistant to guns/power, and weak to melee.

 Ur right. i only have  16 of the 18 frames (missing zephyr cuz i dont feel like farming the resources, and nekros because i just dont like his kit) all farmed, before they gave guaranteed drops on boss runs. I only have 400 hours played in game (thats not including time thinking about mods, and reading and debating on the wiki), plus 2 more months of play prior to that 400 before i reset my account for no real reason. steam says i have about 1200 hours, but of course it counts time in menus. I only  have 78 of the available 140 weapons ranked to level 30 with potatos. and some with 3-4 forma on them. But ur right. I'm much too new to the game to understand how its played. I've only been playing for exactly a year (since its first day on steam). So please. share with me ur top five frames with me so i can get another opinion.

Ash should be top teir because Blade storm will be effected by Combo multiplier. AKA 2k regular bladestorm + 5 combo = 10k damage blade storm. :)

After seeing this thread, maybe the forum should divided into 2 section: 1. player that loves high level mobs.

2. player that play the game the way that DE wants.

on topic,

i think excalibro, ash and valkyr will have a great time with melee 2.0.

Nowadays duo Rhino n Nova with good coordination and primary weapons, can reach 50-60 minutes in T3 Survival easily.

Maybe after U13, duo Excalibro and Ash could achieve the same. Excalibro's RB spams, Ash teleporting everywhere building combos. :D

OP. never try to Tier frames.

 

It will only end badly for you.

 

That said, I predict that the meta will shift largely in favour of melee based Frames initially, as everyone tries out the new system, but then depending how good it is, there will be a fall off in how many of those frames are played.

 

Personally, I'm gonna get Cthulu-frame asap, see how he is and then most likely go back to Banshee, and wait for the hype to go down before settling on builds.

 

Its what i did for damage 2.0, and it worked out pretty well for me.

You have pegged exactly how I see Frost and Volt faring if melee 2.0 implements well.

U13 has alot in it that we see, but DE is famous, in my mind, of only telling a fraction of the tale regarding what's coming in updates.

 

I fully expect some surprises; pleasant and otherwise.

The other big updates added frames and weapons while teasing a prime, buffing different frames, and nerfing OP'd abilities all in the same update.

 

Ash may emerge from U13 quite godly... It could happen.

 

That said though, while I am excited for U13... I fully expect 2 things that nobody is talking about.

 

Nerfs to certain melee weapons

Nerfs to certain frame's skills or effects

 

People didn't expect that from Dmg 2.0 and there were many tears.

There are going to be some of those tomorrow too.

 

Meta Tiers and DPS rankings are subject to change tomorrow quite wildly if past history is any indicator.

And mind telling me how Nova's top tier? You have no explanation for that and if your reason is M prime than it's not valid seeing as it has been used well by using normal guns.

Loki is an amazing frame. But for my money, rhino has an ult thats just as useful, and a team damage buff.  which allows more than just himself to do more dps. Like i said in the og post, everyone will feel different, but ur talking about a damn 2-3 spot discrepancy of a frame i've done nothing but praise, simply because of the fact that he was just inched out of the top. Raw damage isnt what carries endgame. everyone has soma, latron primes and pentas for that. Utility is. and the four frames above loki have more TEAM utility. Loki would be top dog on a solo tier list though.

but you'd need to waste two slots just to mod his roar properly and Rhino Stomp cannot be spammed so what happens to the remaining enemies? They're gonna keep coming and you'd still have to resort to gun play.RD can be spammed because you don't have to kill all enemies to spam it. His decoy could be a good temporary distraction and sneakily kill the enemies.
