Nekros Ultimate Vs Nyx's Chaos?

I have Nyx and I really like Chaos but I was wondering if Nekros' Ultimate is better.

It depends, imo Id pick Nyx's chaos since you dont really need to kill anything for it to work, though nekros can re-decrify summoned bodies for more loot.

Nyx's Chaos' energy cost is less, and it also directs enemy fire away from you since they'll be shooting at each other, compared to Shadows of the Dead.

Provided you killed enough mobs, SotD works like portable Chaos.

Chaos is better hands down however you look at it.

Crowd control: every enemy in range becomes a decoy, of course chaos has better CC.

Damage: every enemy in range is dealing damage to each other and nothing is wasted on shadows, chaos wins again.

Casting time: chaos casts faster and works on any surface, unlike SotD

Energy Cost: obviously chaos at 75

The one and only thing SotD does better is it let's you select what enemies to revive if you select what to kill and make tactical decisions (like if you want an ancient healer to give you health), but Nyx can also do that kind of stuff with mind control

Chaos: takes control of enemies in a range and makes them shoot at a target

SotD: resurrects enemies you have killed

 

It really depends. Chaos is good if you wanna get out of dodge or if you need to get disperse some heat off of you and your teammates.

SotD, if you pick your kills wisely, can land you about 10+ heavy unit enemies which all draw aggro

 

Chaos has a shorter animation than SotD so you arent just standing there waiting to be hit

I will disagree to a degree because technically if you are still in the area or if they are still near a pod

there is nothing stopping them from picking those are targets

so there isnt a 100% guarantee that they will pick the enemy next to them

Nothing guarantees an enemy will stop attacking the pod or the players to chase after SotD.

In fact chaos also gives the enemies a short headache to manually reset what ever they were doing, another thing it does better.

Chaos is amazing

 

SOTD is bad and distracting for your team mates

 

 

If you want to use a CC move as Nekros, Terrify can be built do debuff armour farily significantly which is unique and useful against high level Grineer.

I wouldn't trade one for the other, but I do like playing both. Nekros is just different. His skills require a little more, well, skill.

 

With efficiencies on, there is no reason not to enter every room and cast Chaos immediately. You don't need any other skills or even to think that much about what you're doing. Just cast Chaos, kill things, and count down the timer until you cast again. 

 

Nekros's abilities don't really work that way. You have to take care to pick off stronger enemies to make SotD worth it. Terrify is a real Oh-S#&$ button, but doesn't save you from having to deal with those mobs eventually. I also like looting, it really helps on survival and defense. 

 

Nyx ability set is more effective, but I'm finding Nekros a little more fun to play.

Necros can 'save' heavies to summon them in the right moment and they give friendly buffs, like Ancient heals, but overall Nyx wins
