No thanks.  I'd prefer that warframe keep its visual theme consistent.  Don't need all sorts of wacky nonsense tacked onto everyone's characters :|

 

As for lacking experience?  DE's been around for 20 years o,o

it doesn't have to charge how the warfame looks just how the melee weapon works

If they were to take influence from other games, their game would be better.

There is nothing original under the sun.

I like the current loadout system, though. I just think we could do with more cosmetics, particularly weapon skins.

Independently to personal feelings on TF2 and Demoknighting, a serious problem in the suggestion is ranking the items. Still in the comparison given, no weapon in TF2 ranks up, while most of Warframe`s weapons are nicely designed Mastery Fodder.

maybe something like item does level up and have a small mod inv like 4? :p like resist hp speed armor melee damage?

mods only do so much and skin stats are being taken off just we don't know when

DE has not commited to taking skin stats off.  Every time they've talked about it in the live streams they've just said that stat items would be phased out.

 

Mods do plenty.

I'd rather warframe do their own thing, and not take ideas from other games.

That always sounds nice to say but it isn't really how things work.

Every game takes some ideas from other games.

Originality often comes from what they do with that inspiration.

That said, I do not approve of the idea presented by the OP.

I want each weapon to exist for it's purposes.

Once we start having the have one main thing and two stat sticks it changes the design of loadouts into a more single minded system.

Because a weapon with increased stats will always be stronger than a weapon without.

Variety of the core gameplay loop will often be lost.

I am against this.

I'd say they have us covered in terms of customization and the like. They've already hinted at the addition of another sort of 'slot' similar to Syandanas, of a cosmetic item that can be attached. That, and we already have a massive array of weapons that can also be colors (and some have skins) to choose from. We're already a bit beyond TF2 at this point.
