What Is Going On

So I was running kappa on sedna for oxium and I am quite confused with the community I ran into

So it's a mobile defense vs corpus and I'll usually just play volt and press 4 and run around and kill everything (400+ kills per round) and apparently I was "spawn blocking"

I am quite curious as to what this is and if it really exists, would the amount of corpus change depending on my location because I seemed to have upset a couple people and I try to be funny by saying things like "I'm not here for oxium I just want to farm the ammo drum mod"

I don't know people have been getting angry lately, am I a terrible person? what do I do warframe, help pls

Nobody likes you. Hallway-blocking '4' spammer....

j/k, but really though, use your gun and blade more and fight near teammates. Nobody likes '4' spammers.

yeah i just did another run (mobile defense) changing my technique and we got ~40 oxium each run no matter what I did... so lame, people getting all mad and don't know what they are talking about, I want to play space ninja destruction not daddy frost babysits the cryopod 101, [survival > defense]

We play oxium runs as a clan. Organized and grouped. Least I've seen was a 60-something oxium. I've seen a lot of 80's and 90's. There's advantages to working with a team instead of against the team.

What you're talking about is analogous to a man driving down a road at 100km/h above the speed limit.

Sure you will get to your destination faster and it would be a lot more exciting. But you're putting your needs above everyone else's.

Stay with the pod and it will be boring but at least your teammates get the exp and has higher chance of actually picking up the mods and resources that drop from the enemies.

If you don't like playing with some common decency, try solo.

You can spawn nuke to your heart's content there.

Basically, you went off on your own to be a badass out of sharing range, leaving your team, and leaving your team to babysit the objective.

That basically makes you kind of a jerk and a poor, excessively self-centered teammate.

I too tend to run around on my own mission (regardless of which frame I'm using) too. This thread actually makes me feel bad, I was not aware of the implications of separating from the group.

This thread helped.

I think the experienced Warframe community should take initiative or even responsibility to help and educate new players, because honestly most people don't know what the Vey Hek is going on in this game. I've been an active player, WIKI and forum user for about 2 months and I'm still discovering new stuff every day. It's a crazy big, well put together system we're using here - though quite confusing at times. I feel your pain bro, but you know how it is - if you learn the hard way then you learn the first time.

I agree with you and have tried to take the iniative and educate newer players as to the mechanics. Then I get told to stfu, called a noob, insulted, argued with by people like the guy in this thread who claims you get more resources if you run around like an idiot (you don't, sorry man you just don't), and told "it's my game I'm gonna play it how I want". After this goes on for so long I just can't manage to care anymore. Simpler to let the pod die and hope I get a smarter group next time. I know not everyone will be like that but I've had a grand total of 4 people ever listen to me, so I just don't see the point.

We need a blacklist so I could add the people telling op to stay the course, rather not have to play with those types.

The people saying you get less resources, that's the opposite of what really happens. Usually on a decents kappa run I would get 30 oxium, 40 if I'm very lucky while everyone is close to the pod. The other day I was doing my last kappa run and I would have enough for zephyr. There was a rhino with max stomp range, I never saw any of my teammate while defending the pod and the pushed the spawns 3-4 rooms away, but I managed to get 60+ oxium and the rhino had 850ish kills. He said his best run was around 100 without any boosters, and I still got way more xp than usual even if I missed alot of it from them being far away.

the tileset matters as well unless you got it every time you ran it was just a excellent tileset for the MD meaning all the spawn points where awesome.

I guess my question for you would be why even play online then and just play solo yourself for every game?

Clearly if you are such a superior player you ain't need any help form nobody.......and clearly your squad don't need you since you are clearly not defending the objective.

drops are on a timer, if you just run round the map killing everything people are afraid they will miss a valuable (oxium) drop.

the general idea is that everybody stays in the same room untill the timer runs out.

Actually, I believe that timer has either been removed for resources or heavily extended. It used to be reasonably shorter.

Just playing devils advocate here but couldn't the question be asked why are you looking for a coordinated team in a PUG. You can't get angry just because people have a different play style that is not exp efficient lol. That sounds like expectations for a clan run, not Joe Pug...

PUGs don't have to be complete chaos. Much like improvisational theatre, if you take a group of people who half-way understand the basic thing they are doing, you can have a quite entertaining, and mostly coherent result.

I PUG all the time, and normally have a good experience.

I'm going to second this. I usually have a miserable time (curse you RL RNG) but the few times I haven't have been amazing.

Which is exactly how you should approach the number 4.

The problem is spawn blocking, door hero-ing, and adamantly refusing to give a damn about other players.

Asking that someone defend the objective in a defense gamemode isn't asking for a coordinated team, and is so far below the kinds of expectations I'd have for a clan. It's not just about being efficient. Ignoring how his style of play is detrimental to spawn rates and XP sharing, playing like he does hurts his mates ability to simply have fun.

Part of the problem is that mobile defense shouldn't even allow this kind of behavior to flourish. Until DE either overhauls or replaces the game mode, asking that someone who otherwise seems to have good intentions make common sense changes to their play style seems perfectly reasonable.

If you're going to play like you're solo, and in the process make the game less fun for those you're playing with, then just play solo.
