When I Visit Eurasia To Help Newer Players...

Question

There are several things I notice:

-Rank 0 players who (probably) have no idea that Eurasia will be troublesome.

-Rank 1 or 2 players who have been successful thus far, and feel they *might* be ready to take on Eurasia

-Players who accept my advice, and threfore, do not die.

-Players who ignore my advice, and die quickly.

Here's a couple tips for new players if you want to suceed at Eurasia

(This is not a complete guide, just the things I have personally noticed.)

1- A squad with any amount of players greater than one will cause the node to spawn MANY more enemies.

2- Sticking close together increases your chances of survival.

3- Losing your cool and rushing away from your team to capture a tower that has turned red is highly inadvisable.

4- Agreeing on a path of travel for the entire squad and sticking to it works very well.

I started going back to play Eurasia after another player here on the forums encouraged experienced players to revisit Eurasia to help newer players out. I've just been frustrated with this, though, because the newer players most often won't take advice.

If I meet you on Eurasia AND you are a rank 0-2, and you choose to run away from me during the mission, I will not feel compelled to revive you immediately. If you are still bleeding out while I happen to reach your location, then I will revive you. This is not to be mean to you. I do this because my ultimate goal is to stick to my plan and be consistent, as well as teach you that if you had stuck by my side to begin with, you wouldn't need a heal.

Also, last but not least: pay attention to your energy meter. I use energy siphon, and you could have enough energy to use your ulti in a difficult moment.

If anyone else has any other tips for Eurasia, or you even feel that anything I've said here is WRONG, please feel free to reply. I admit I could be wrong about any number of things here, but it works for me. Different tactics can work for different folks.

Sticking together is only advisable for very new players.

If you are capable of keeping yourself alive reasonably well, then sticking together is the opposite of what you should do on interception missions.

Whenever possible, I find it best to spread a team out over nodes as much as possible to ensure consistent domination.

For newer players this may be a bit difficult though, as it requires a bit of independence from the rest of the team (they can't rush over and revive you every 10 seconds). So OP's strategy of sticking together is still relevant in some cases.

Generally when I pop down to help out guildies, or just for fun, I'll take two nodes and let the other three worry about holding at least one of the remaining two. Trin or Nova can also make this game type fairly trivial.

The biggest tip that people seem to ignore, is that defending is much easier and effective than attacking. Hence, don't leave a node undefended to attack another. Must be agressive human nature, but I constantly see people doing this and they generally lose the undefended node even before clearing the attacked node, let alone the 30 sec capture timer.

Also, pay attention to the alarms. Those indicate a Grineer is hacking a node, so check the terminals when you hear one.

I went to "help" on Eurasia a few times (got my arse kicked a few times too before I figured out the spawns) and I think that the experienced player should just camp point D, where the majority of the enemies will spawn. Of course if may happen that the others can't hold their own point, but I didn't work out further tactics because sometimes there's many high MR players in those missions and I didn't see the point in sticking around for more runs.

Well yeah, that's the idea. The OP is specifically talking about new players, so of course it's relevant to cases involving new players.

I'm one of those players who needed a helping hand from above on this mission.  What the OP has to say is very good.  Additionally, I think holding three nodes should be the main goal.  I was able to keep the enemy off the terminals of one node for a fair amount of time by myself before becoming overwhelmed by the onslaught.  Once three nodes are captured, I'd suggest leaving one new player at each node just keeping themselves alive and the terminals clear.  Meanwhile, the high level frame could be moving between those nodes laying waste to the horde and giving the lowbies a chance to recharge.  By the time the high level gets back to the 1st node in the rotation, it'll be ready to be cleared again.

I liked the OP recommendations.  I've noticed for a high level nuker (like Nova or others) it's possible to kill the enemies fast enough to keep taking towers and stay perpetually on offense.  This seems to work better to carry 1 or 2 new players.  It's messy in that the grineer score points, but it's pretty easy to out score them 3:1 without ever defending.

p.s. Wormhole for victory.  To the Excalibur with the mk1-braton who was smart enough to travel through my wormhole and stick with me without any prompting, I salute you.
