They're both great weapons to potato, but I would recommend the Stug since it can take out many more enemies faster than the Vectis can.

 

Unless you like snipers, of course.

Real answer: I dislike the stug so I would suggest the vectis.

stug is good to kill mass enemies and the vectis is a heavy hitter against one target maybe a few more if your lucky with a punch through mod

You should potato the Jackhawk 9000. Available at Walmart.

Stug really only shines with a click macro. Without one the DPS is considerably lower, but still excellent. The delay in the damage dealing and the potential for self damage means it works better on a tankier frame. It's utterly overpowered on Trinity, although shes gotta be getting a nerf soon.

 

Vectis is a decent all-round sniper, but IMO the top tier bows (Paris Prime and Dread) are much better.

 

Really if you love either weapon, potatoe it. Otherwise wait for something you do really love.

If these are your choices, I'd go with the Vectis.

 

General rule though, like Darzk said, just potato the things you love.
