Tar_Spit_Fire Posted April 2, 2014 Share Posted April 2, 2014 (edited) as for the title of this thread, im not meaning that the damage of the torid....in the previous update torid gets a total rework of it's design *great work on that DE* that makes this weapon slightly interesting but in fact this gun is still one of the worst primary weapon you can use by my opinion... not in term of damage, but the slow projectile speed and heavy arcingand i know that some of you professional players would say you can use this in combo with vauban but i am not using vauban at all time and plus if you are using this weapon on the other mission rather than on defense mission... this weapon will prove difficult to use...yea i know too that this weapon is suppose to be used as a gas grenade/mine that you can be like place a toxic cloud on the floor and wait until the enemy runs by... but, although you can use this weapon and shoot the projectile on floor and create a toxic cloud at there damaging enemies that runs by, but other than the melee enemy in the game... most of the enemy will take cover and shoot you from afar... making this weapon a slight difficult to use in many situation.... even the enemy runs into the toxic cloud, they will not likely to stay in that area for very long time making this another disadvantage of torid... and this weapon's projectile speed and heavy arcing is making this weapon worst, the arc and the projectile speed is making this weapon hard to land even one dart on 'normally' running enemy...so here's a suggestion... try slightly increase this weapon's fire rate and make it become a dart gun type weapon that have faster projectile speed *not hit-scan* but like the seer pistol or boltor projectile speed with a bit projectile arcing drop over distance like all the bow have... and that's it, now we can land the toxic cloud dart on enemy more efficiently and this makes the torid more efficient weapon to use on most situation... Half their Hp kill them faster, if they don't die fast enough they shoot their allies. Simple. I've been using the Torid outside of Survivals and Defense missions and I'm not having a huge problem with it. Sure it fires slow and reloads slow and has heavy arcing. I don't really care though, I like slapping a piece of flesh that generates poisonous fumes on enemies lol. The Reload animation needs to be fixed due to the fact it uses it's previous models animation. That's how the gun is in all honesty. I never stated that was my purpose. The thing i was trying to point out was that I found it awkward in the beginning, I agree that the Flight speed is slow, the Arc is very strange and that It reloads slower than an RPG being reloaded by a quadriplegic. But that's how the Torid has always been. It used to be the opitomy of Defense missions in Damage 1.0, than they screwed it up in damage 2.0 and they tweaked it every now and than. You need to adjust to the gun's physical stature and animation, than you won't find it as difficult and awkward. if you can't than I'm sorry to say but the gun is not for you. I've actually put down all the fully forma'd weapons I have (Paris Prime, Dread, Karak, Dera and a few others) down because I'm actually having alot of fun with the Torid in almost every mission type, the bulk of the mission types being Corpus Invasion mission (farming for G3). Except this is the same configuration I use and it offers powerful CC and killing power because of the high proc rate. The weapon is not that hard to use.
