Is buying Platinum the only way to get it?

I understand the F2P model but I find it more suitable if you just have the option to pay real money if you want something without playing the game longer for it. Hence some people have more time to play a game and can earn in-game currency vs people that can only play a short amount of time so therefore they spend cash to speed things up. And in a game that is built on COOP, you're not paying to WIN anything.

Is this model going to stay this way or are there talks of allowing anyone to farm Platinum so they can enjoy the rest of the game content? People will always spend money when it offers them a convenience like faster XP/Platinum gain etc etc.

A good way to keep the value of platinum while removing pay2win options would be allowing warframes to get the expanded trees after maxing out the initial tree. Plat would be used normally by unlocking the entire tree.

I also think items bought with plat should be boosted or something, like having accelerated affinity gain or starting them at rank 7. This keeps the incentive to buy items with plat to speed up grinding while still allowing F2P players the same opportunities but through extended grinding.

They're already looking at this and probably going to change it. One of the ideas was to have the login bonus have a chance of giving some Plat.

Thats not the only issue tho, its getting the other warframes and game content.
