CrimsonMOON Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 Another reason the game industry is a really rough place to work. It's not a glamorous life at all since absolute morons give you death threats for no goddamn reason. You know what's worse than DE pushing an update back? God lord I have no clue, perhaps it's the fact that a guy is living across the street homeless. "Hey there, did you hear about that poverty" "No man, but that's nothing in comparison to DE pushing back Update 13 for Warframe." Saying "someone else has it worse" in no way lessens how someone else feels, but it does make you seem rather insensitive.
OniDax Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 I'm grateful for Golden Ironskin. I'm also grateful that DE decided to push back an update by a week to fix a glaring issue BEFORE it was launched. ._. although now I have nothing to do for a week. Oh well it will only make melee 2.0 all the sweeter. I'd like to know what that issue was though. Don't see the harm in doing that (maybe that will help people understand why it had to be delayed instead of just "we want to polish it more", because how much polish is enough? At what point do you say "it's been polished enough"?). I'm grateful for an awesome game, even despite the mistakes that the dev team makes. At least, given their track record, we know that they will apologize for this, as they have for other mistakes in the past. We'll definitely get an apology on Friday.
Tuxie Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 Thank you DE ...For raising my hopes and then crushing them (Seriously tho thanks for all the hard work so far)
Shad0wb0x Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 Okay...i dunno about you all but: Thank you DE for creating Warframe, thank you for bringing more content every now and then, and community well behave yourself's, if not them you didn't had the chance to "*@##$" about the delays whatsoever if Warframe was not created, i mean all of take a look at all TRIPLE A games out there, how the DEVs work and take every bit of money out of your pocket, aren't you glad we got such amazing DEV's on warframe? i mean they troll, have fun, work very hard to deliver our expectations for their imagination coming into live in warframe...and all you do is complain without reason at all. PS: Don't bother replying to me saying garbage talk, it's my opinion and my OPINION ALONE. Thank you DE and take your time to give us something amazing as usual.
K-chair Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 ok, im as &!$$ed as you are, but damn this is just harsh. Children throwing a tantrum for not getting what they want, when they want it cant be harsh, they are far to small for that. I dont see why so many people are coming in here to trash talk, when there are countless other threads for that exact reason. I'm grateful for DE creating a game that I enjoy almost daily, and for the past, current and future updates that will only continue making the game great. You guys deserve every dollar I've thrown at you. Please, Keep up the fantastic work. You know that the vast majority of us have high standards and are happy to appeal to that. If it takes a week, or even two, to get this update to the point where you think that we deserve, take all the time you need. Thanks DE!

I'm Grateful that Warframe is a game that I love, a game that I have helped to found and improve and to some extent attribute to in content, but most importantly because that there are people like from the above quote that also play this game. Thanks DE for making an amazingly fun outlet for awesome people to spend time together. Edited April 3, 2014 by 2ply
notlamprey Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 I'm grateful for perspective. Every content creator out there knows what a tough position it is to be involved in a project that you AND a bunch of strangers are passionate about. When you actually care about the thing you're making, it's incredibly painful to be pouring yourself into the work just to see community members turn on you - for NO reason other than that they aren't you. That's it. The single biggest contributor to every community backlash suckquake is circumstance. You can attempt to educate ignorance. You can shrug off immaturity. Facing the Other's simple inability to understand your position can be maddening, because it's such a fundamental thing. Hang in there, guys. I believe in you. If I have to cut back my playtime and be patient, I'll do that. I can spend the time teaching myself a little of the countless things in this universe I still don't know jack about.
Evanescent Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 Thank you for making Warframe and keeping it free. Love you, DE!

Good effin god, it is so well done. I play the damn thing multiple times daily lol. I'm going to make a grineer appreciate thread.
Noogums Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 (edited) I'm grateful to the Devs for all the hard work they do every day for us.I'm also grateful for threads like this that remind me there's still hope for this community. Thanks for posting it, 2ply! Aggh Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 (edited) What white knights need to realize is that one of DE's biggest strength's has been its ability to keep its playerbase informed. Putting up a timer after a week of hyping up the release instead of just telling us that the update was going to be delayed was a big step backwards in that regard. Making threads like this in reaction to valid criticisms is stupid. The way the handled announcing the delay is not excusable. It does not take much effort to make a post on the forums and social media saying that there will be a delay. They've done it before, so I don't quite get why the felt the need to handle it this way this time around.Threads like these send mixed signals when DE should be learning from their mistakes. Additionally, criticizing DE for @(*()$ up doesn't mean that we're not grateful to them for their work on the game. Providing valid criticism is in fact far more supportive than mindlessly defending every mistake that DE has made. Edited April 3, 2014 by Aggh

Providing valid criticism is in fact far more supportive than mindlessly defending every mistake that DE has made. You are right. Making threads in reaction to valid criticisms is silly. Other than an offhand shot (the picture reading "I'll wait"), my interpretation of this thread was not one of apologizing for DE's failure to inform the players that they weren't going to hit the deadline they set for themselves, but more a reaction to all the negativity that has been festering for some time. Some of us enjoy this game, and would like to see it go places, to go farther than it has already. Some of us give feedback to that end. I've been around since early open beta, so almost a year, and generally speaking, the forums are full of half-hearted topic posts of something thats been discussed thoroughly months prior, badly written complaints, half-assed attempts to get DE to throw a lot of easy plat at the playerbase, and then some articulate guilt trips (hey, occasionally some of the complainants have decent writing skills, they just spin it badly). Sounds to me a lot like Denial, Anger, Bargaining and Depression..... It's a serious turn-off as most of it is dreadfully non-constructive. Every so often someone needs to throw out a light into the dimly lit sewer of the forums so those with some motivation can follow the path someone else clearly thought was viable. Maybe just maybe they'll find some like-minded individuals to share a moment, before returning to the inevitable slaughter of armor plated, cloned space marines. Complaints about what's wrong is good; DE asked for feedback. Not telling them what they've done right is a failure on our part, and may lead to something awesome being changed. This thread is here to remedy that. It was decently refreshing until a couple of trolls showed up. To ensure that I stay on topic: I am grateful for Loki. Great looks, great skillset. I'd love to see more control-esque frames. I am grateful for the bow rework. <3 dread. I am grateful for the immortal skins. Nyx never looked so scary O.o I am grateful for the Alad V trailer. It's been a long time since any cinematic in a game evoked any more than a slight twitch of emotion. Seeing that Cali get cut up creeped me out a lot more than I thought possible from a 4 minute video. As soon as that hit, I was all in rooting for the rescue squad to show up in time. I am also grateful for DE's undercover methods of weeding some of the "instant gratification" brats out of the community. Keep cracking skulls DE, we will still be here when you think it's ready for us. HOORAY!

Drasiel Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 I do not understand why people are getting so upset about this. If it was in the feedback forum then it would just be a combative waste of space, but in General Discussion? It's 100% fine to be here. People often forget to mention the things they love about a game when they are on the forums and it is especially easy to forget the things that you enjoy the most about a game when something you were looking forward to is pushed back. No one is saying that they handled informing us well, or that it doesn't suck that the update was delayed. What they are saying is remember the good things too. If you want to give feedback about Hype and disappointment or how informing us about delays needs to be handled better there is a lovely feedback section dedicated to handling that. This thread is for remembering the good things. :) I'm grateful for the Swindle Loki helm and Immortal Loki skin. My loki never looked so fine. *puts sunglasses on loki*

I am Grateful the fact that DE is getting better every day, people learn from mistakes more than they learn from success....So far DE has been very successful at learning from mistakes. And the best part is....when they do make a oops....the community gets FREE STUFF! YAY DE...please make more little oversights...there are poor gamers who depend on them! Edited April 3, 2014 by 2ply
