Seqan
Alright, guys. I'm here to ask for help. Many of you are already aware of the music video I released a few months ago. (If you aren't, .) I am trying to make another one, but this time I want to use in-game footage at the same time. This is where I start to have a problem. I have a great clan that would be more than willing to help me run missions, however, I simply do not have the computer power to record what I need. I turn to y'all, the community. Many of you record footage for clan advertisement videos and things of that nature. Projects that never get done, etc. If you have anything you're willing to let me use, OR if you're willing to go capture something for me, please either send me a file transfer, a private youtube video, or something of that nature. WeTransfer is a good transfer site. PM me directly for an email address as I'm not willing to post that publicly. The song I wish to use will be at the end of this post. I do, however, have a few criteria for any submitted footage. -Minimum aspect ratio of 16:10 -Minimum resolution of 1280x720 -Minimum framerate of 30. If you give a higher FR for me to use, it will be flattened to 30. I can't use anything less than 30 though -Decent graphics, please. I am content to use whatever, but the shinier the better -Minimum clip length of 40 seconds. The longer the submitted footage, the more likely I am to be able to use something from it. -HUD disabled -No Shades for the cameraman, preferably no sentinels at all, but Shade is an absolute -Raw footage makes life much easier for a video editor -No added effects/visuals -I will be editing out most if not all audio so don't worry about sound effects or TeamSpeak or whatever's going on -Please provide a list of any players in the clip -Melee looks cool -Not an absolute, but I prefer standard colors and helmets Any footage that I use in the final video will be credited to you, as will any participants in the actual footage. In some form or fashion, you'll get credit if you want. If you wish to remain anonymous, tell me that whenever you send me the footage. I look forward to completing my final product! Thank y'all in advance for taking the time to read and/or help me. ~Seqan Edited April 3, 2014 by Seqan
CobaltChimera
I could get you ton of footage. But I use 16:9 aspect ratio.
Seqan
16:9 is higher than 16:10. It's 1.7777 vs 1.
CobaltChimera
Well then. Any specific tile sets?

I am content to use whatever, but the shinier the better So wouldn't all these make it funny when they change from clip to clip. I mean you guys should agree on something and roll like that. It will probably be like switching to a GoPro from a SLR. Edit: It probably won't be that obvious but you know a lot more then me, that I can see only from your OP, you know what I mean. Seqan
Well then. Any specific tile sets? No. I have in mind what I'd like to see, but I'm very flexible. I want the final product to have variety, though. So wouldn't all these make it funny when they change from clip to clip. I mean you guys should agree on something and roll like that. It will probably be like switching to a GoPro from a SLR. Edit: It probably won't be that obvious but you know a lot more then me, that I can see only from your OP, you know what I mean. It is possible to mix and match different aspect ratios. It all depends on how the editor does transitions and things of that nature. That's why I don't want to use anything less than 1.6, though, because then it becomes more square than rectangular. Good point, Fov would have to be the same too. This isn't as important. I'm trying to build a collage, if you will. I would prefer to be able to take a shot from any angle in the scene, but unfortunately, WF does not have the same videotaping abilities as Halo Reach. Wider shots are better for me so that the cameraman isn't in as much of the scene. I had forgotten that WF had the ability to edit FOV... Maybe I should run some trials and determine a minimum setting. Edited April 3, 2014 by Seqan

It would be better if you could have it the same everywhere as well, right?
CobaltChimera
There is also a option to change sides the camera is on.
Seqan
I was actually talking more about the resolution. It would be better if you could have it the same everywhere as well, right? In the flattening process (taking the collage and making it ONE picture is a good analogy), everything is unified to one resolution and things are compressed. During the editing process, I can adjust relative size before flattening so everything looks unified in the end. There is also a option to change sides the camera is on. Doesn't matter which side it is to me.
CobaltChimera
Also what type of gameplay footage are you looking for? Fast paced, slow and accurate, parkour based?
Seqan
Also what type of gameplay footage are you looking for? Fast paced, slow and accurate, parkour based? Everything. More variety = more options for me. If I see something I like, it goes in. Even a quick shot of Nova dropping an MPrime has a place somewhere. Maybe not in this particular video, but you get the idea. If it's cool and goes with the music/song, I use it. When I made my first video, I spent more time listening to the song and watching the footage I had to work with than I did actually cutting footage together. The process I use is very ADHD, but I like to let my work speak for itself. =) EDIT: OP updated with an additional criteria for submissions. Azsendi
Minimum aspect ratio of 16:10 Got 16:9 -Minimum resolution of 1280x720 1600x900 -Decent graphics, please. I am content to use whatever, but the shinier the better I only disable bloom, color correction, depth of view, motion blur, not sure what else. I think that's it. -Minimum clip length of 40 seconds. The longer the submitted footage, the more likely I am to be able to use something from it. gotcha -HUD disabled What's the Key for that? -No Shades for the cameraman, preferably no sentinels at all, but Shade is an absolute Is helio's fine? -Raw footage makes life much easier for a video editor -No added effects/visuals That's not really possible if it's a raw footage lol -I will be editing out most if not all audio so don't worry about sound effects or TeamSpeak or whatever's going on ok. -Please provide a list of any players in the clip I like to play alone -Melee looks cool gotcha -Not an absolute, but I prefer standard colors and helmets Is Proto-armor and Excalibur prime fine? My colors should look nice, but that's my opinion Edit: If it's fine, I'll start recording tomorrow. Edited April 3, 2014 by Jaren-
Seqan
Shouldn't be a problem. Like I said, I prefer no sentinels at all, but I know everyone likes that. Shade cloaking you happens all the time which is why I said no shades ever, Carrier's pickups will never be allowed in the shot, and if your Helios scans anyone, that won't show up either in any final product. Those are my only concerns. That, and sentinels take up camera space, and no one likes a camera hugger. =P As for disabling HUD, check your GFX settings. There's a toggle switch. Helmets, colors, meh. The reason I want the original skins/colors/helmets is I plan on this being a kind of "ad" to attract new players, and the idea of someone going "OMG that thing looks AWESOME! I WANT THAT ARMOR!" then they get to the game... "Where are my cool colors? I saw cool colors!" See what I mean? Primes are fine though.
