Phyrak
G'day all, Phyrak here I'm just putting my thoughts into what may be of use for your average space ninja Currently, the items which come to mind are that of a grappling hook, a smoke bomb and of climbing claws (if the old movies are to go with) My thoughts are that any of these items would equip into an item slot where weapons would usually be So, since we have "the sword alone" update coming out, my imagination went a little haywire... Think of a Volt or Rhino armed with only a melee weapon, a grappling hook and a smoke bomb - no power, no shields. Your aim is to survive stealthily... Anyhow...the mechanics Ash already has a smoke bomb, Valkyr has a grappling hook (of sorts) The grappling hook would act as a pistol (without ammo) - it would be effected by mods such as reach to increase its hooking-ness -it would also have minor damage but when you hit a target, you would be able to pull them off an edge -another mod that would be rather fun to have would be 'stronger hook' to take down larger targets - ie. anyone want to ragdoll the Lephantis Golem?!...or Vay Hek...? The Smoke bomb would acts likes Ash's smoke bomb. the aim is for 3-7 seconds of stealth -> this item would put the enemy back into alert mode rather then aggressive BUT!!! it can goes either of two ways infinite uses, long cool down before next use -> 30 seconds to 1 minute or finite uses, short cool down -> 10-30 seconds the ammo drop rate for this item would be shotgun and sniper mods are that of duration - so you stay invisible for longer damage mods - if you so desire to disappear without a trace and leave your enemies flailing from corrosive or stunned from electrical the climbing claws... this is a little more of a mechanics thing ie - think of wallrunning and you see a nice little niche you can hide whilst a group of enemies and their leader patrol nearby it would certainly help in a way with the stealth of the game (hopes for the quietly mentioned stealth 2.0) if this were a mechanic rather then an item, there would need to be a designated button for hanging from a wall and climbing with said claws anyhow, thank you for reading - feel free to add your ideas for a utility item -Phyrak out

izzatuw
At the rate of stealth your idea isn't gonna do much till stealth 2.0. Also the ai are kinda dumb in the game, I hid at the side of a door and a grineer or two just passed by. What's the difference by just climbing a high wall and slowly sliding off? Tali
Well there were a livestream where they demonstrated a working grapplinghook but it never got implented
Symbiont71
I see some potential in a <press-X-to-hang-from-wall-spiderman-style> mechanic that would let you stay hidden from enemies in a full-stealth mission..IF the enemies were smart enough to look around and actually see you from more than 30 meters away... There i go again day dreaming about some actual stealth gameplay for my ash...

Phyrak
Hope and optimism is a wondrous thing The Spider-man warframe -uses grappling hook- More verticality to the levels and bit on the side of walls and such to sit yourself on - perhaps batman style? Items like this would allow for a more 'ninja like approach' without being a stealth frame It would also make sniping quite something
