A Bit Disgusted At The Entitlement Of The Player Base.

Just as the title says, I'm very disappointed in a lot of the Warframe playerbase right now. Yesterday's griping just made me stay away from this game for the day.

As someone who has stuck with Warframe for over a year, I feel a bit angry with those who complained that are vet's like me. The newer players I can somewhat understand, but even still..

What makes anyone in the playerbase entitled to be treated mutually exclusive over a delayed patch? What gives anyone the right to complain and just be down right hateful to a game company who has brought us one of the best free to play games ever created?

Have any of you ever played WoW? Do you know what always happens when they implement new systems? The whole game gets shutdown for a day. You wait for over a week to month for a new weapon.

Or how about the millions of games out there that are "Pay to win"?

A lot of those game companies don't give two S#&$s about the player base and have massive game studio's, yet they screw up every.single. time.

Meanwhile, DE bends over backwards for you people and you repay them with extreme self entitlement? It's disgusting. They've even gone so far as to apologize for the delay and give you basically free potatoes.

That's right, DE has a free to play game where they release new content every week, where literally EVERYTHING can be farmed/earned... and they even give free items away all the time, plus they apologize with more important items.

And people still griped about it.

So disgusted right now. Yeah, call me a "white knight" or whatever... but a lot of you need to gain some perspective and respect for this company. I've NEVER seen a company go so far to please there playerbase.

Anyways, needed to get that off my chest.

Complaining about people complaining won't get you anywhere.

People were disappointed because this update is gonna be huge.

Melee 2.0

New Vay Hek

Killerkarpfen frame

And katana.

We were expecting yesterday because all the transmissions only add up till that day. Honestly I ain't even mad.

Edit: Also, try to remember how U11,U12 was. A new frame and weapon just like every other update. But this update we are getting so many things like I listed above. A transmission from Hek a few weeks ago, Melee 2.0 trailer teased a few days ago, a propaganda at the official website that showed what we'd be getting slowly. All to make us hyped. U13 is the updates of updates. But as long as DE found bugs and what not, make finishing touches I won't rant.

I may not have raged yesterday but still I believe that DE should have handled it way better than they did.

They put the counter up and waited 2 hours before they announced anything.

The least they could have done is actually communicated with their player base properly and stated in a news post before the counter went up "Hey there's an issue and we're having to delay the patch, sorry guys!"

Thats the only thing I'm disappointed in DE for: their lack of communication over the error.

Honestly I don't understand why you compare Warframe to other games like WoW, or the p2w ones. I've played a ton of games but never have I gone through the things DE puts us through. I don't care if things get delayed, but not the way it happened yesterday, that was just insane and unprofessional. I mean come on, DE can do better than that especially now with the whole vote process going on mmobomb.

You and I both know, as vets, what happened in the past.

Its always ****storm after ****storm nowadays in Warframe forums...

Warframe vs Mabinogi's epic MMObomb f2p semi-final showdown. The excessive flaming brought out the worst in many people. Then U13 got delayed. Another huge amount of rage were flung around. In fact, I feel that the playerbase should not have expressed so much blind rage and mindless bashing.

I did not rage either. However, from my perspective, both sides are in the wrong here. DE's mistake has already been pointed out many times before- the lack of communication about the delay, and attempting to silence the community. That is absolutely wrong.

The playerbase's rage is expected, but it was... Excessive. The compensation alone is enough to me.

Overall, I feel that there is too much going on at the moment.

it's one thing to delay a patch, melee 2.0 has been delayed a lot, but that's fine enough i guess.

but when you hold a week of hype, make a site for the update, and at the last second when everyone is hyped to the max you go "NOPE, ANOTHER WEEK, GOT YOU GUYS" it reflects terribly on the company. it meant they weren't ready to launch the teaser, it meant they couldn't do what they expected to do, it means a lot of things, and none are good.

the only pro i can give them is that at least they don't drop the patch if it's still that buggy/unfinished, unlike another company i know of.

I agree with you in many degrees, sometimes is very harsh how ppl create posts full of grunts, whining, hate and demands.

Not only some players are very disgusting ppl here in the forums but they also act that way in the game.

Anyway, although I do get DE needed more time, needed this delay, they messed up big, and they even created more mess announcing the delay.

They did a big fuzz about this update, and at the last day they decided to cancel, no problem there.

The problem is, they decided to delay it but didn't had the notion to aware the players, or making it very transparent, they only put the number 7, and worse in grineer language, they kept very quite, and only later Rebbecca replied on the forums actually confirming it all.

Meaning is, they handled pretty bad that announcement.

Still that doesn't justify all the hate posts made by users, but it would be expected after DE treating us all like that.

Dont think of it as entitlement over a delayed patch, think of it as a reminder to the devs that they are not the only game in town, and that broken promises, endless delays and poor communication won't be tolerated.

They need us. Because we give them money.

Without customers, Warframe dies. they aren't producing this game as an act of charity, its an attempt in a rather crowded market place, to turn their skills into currency.

They should be glad people are hanging around to get upset, rather than seeing if anything else is available.

It's true that there are some people who are spoiled. Although this situation is a bad example. Before hand, they had delayed melee 2.0 a few times before. And this time it was even more official with even a teaser. Then on the day this giant update of awesomeness is supposed to come out, it's set back. Of course people will be upset. They felt entitled because DE was entitling the players. Yet there were some that went out of hand. No doubt, DE is great. But you it's pretty hard to keep smiling when you were promised the most delicious looking cookies, then says "sorry, next week". I myself am fine with this situation, but keep in mind, it's DE's own fault there was retaliation.

But I do love this game, so thank you DE.

In regular situations though, I completely agree with you.

+1 respect. DE does everything for both the PS4 and PC playerbase that they can. That deserves an applause on its own. They've made one of the greatest games I have ever played, and ever will. To hear people complain about this and that makes me disappointed to be called a 'gamer'.

And I always get disgusted at people who throw around the word "entitled" about video gamers. As if the devs were some kind of deity and we should be grateful for any little scrap they toss our way.

Newsflash kid: the video game industry right now is in every way a buyer's market. The devs should be happy for any scrap of money that gets tossed their way from us, because there's literally a billion other games available for us to toss our money at. So yeah, if you want to use that word, we have every right to be entitled. I'll be the first to admit, I'm a fairly fickle fan. I have very little patience for a video game that doesn't offer me what I'm looking for. Why? Because, as I just said, there's literally a billion other options. If I uninstall this game tomorrow, I still have more fun video games available to me than I'll be able to play in my lifetime. Deal with it.

Gotta love DE man, they know when a product is under cooked.

When they nerfed Frost they re-balanced him accordingly, every thing they do they test countless ways to go about it, making the game.

So glad they're not Perfect World, or those guys behind Mech Warrior Online.
