Idea To Help New Players: Mod Rewards For Clearing Planets.

So after reading the various threads and testing it my self, I can safely say that I think new players have a fairly rough time, either due to the poor scaling of available weapons/enemies or due to the fact that they don't have Mods that are seen as absolutely necessary.

 

What I propose is something that should theoretically solve the issue of the mods, and it is that players get rewarded for clearing planets, with the rewards being these "necessary" mods. 

 

Examples:

For clearing out Mercury, players are rewarded with a Serration Mod.

For clearing Venus players are rewarded Hornet Strike.

For clearing Earth players get Point Blank.

 

Thoughts on this?

Good idea, and not making little of it, just as good as most ideas about MOD distribution. Just ask yourself this (sorry if I sound pedantic, it is just an attempt at irony) - If DE just recently removed Slash Dash from Stalker, and didnt touch any other ability MODs that are given FREELY AND IMMEDIATELY after you craft or buy any frame... Do you really think it is in their game design to make MOD acquisition ANY easier?

That would be good if it's implemented.

 

Even if I personally didn't had a problem to get my first serration and hornetstrike I've find people looking for this two mods that are vital for thm to keep progessing and one of them is only dropped by Infested Ancients.

Personally, I think it should be based off of Boss kills.

I.E. after you kill the Mercury boss (it's been a while, I forget who it is), you get a nifty mod to help on Venus, a BP for a gun that has Impact damage (so you can actually kill the corpus), and the resources to build said gun.

By the time the game is "finished" we're gonna have what, at least 100 different weapons?  Why not give a few away for free?

Same theory applies to Frames

Personally, I think it should be based off of Boss kills.

And, to top it off, you gain the Mastery required to take the Rank 1 test (which should be required to move on to Venus).

^im thinking more along these lines. all you have to do is increase the percent of drops for the first few boss's for redirection/serration/hornet strike and etc. so if they dont get the mod they need they can re do a boss they were already able to beat to get the mod they needed. which will then help them on the next planet. 

 

on the other hand there seems to be a lot of clans looking for players that claim to be friendly and helpful on the recruitment tab (my clan included) im sure the clan can help rustle up a couple of essential mods to help a clan mate out.
