Stefanovich
Wall of text, beware. TL;DR at the bottom. Random Numbers Generator. The bane of our existence. I have caught wind of a recent "T3 Key Drought" where players are finding it more and more difficult to come by Void Keys these days due to RNG making it unnecessarily difficult to get the keys you want. Well, what if we could transmutate our keys to form new ones? Now I know what your thinking, "Hnnng, more RNG, nooo!" But this process of transmutating won't be the same method when transmutating mods. Instead, this process will take a key or multiple keys and combine/separate them into new keys. Let me give you an example: ~ Johnny just needs that Orthos Prime, but he is missing Orthos Prime Blades in order to build it. They drop from T2 Capture, but wait! He only has a bunch of T1 Captures! "I don't need these keys," Johnny cried in despair. Luckily for him, DE implemented a new Void Key Transmutation feature in the latest patch, what luck! Johnny puts in 2 T1 Capture keys, and with some credits and wishful thinking, a T2 Capture key is formed! "Huzzah!" Johnny was amazed at how much time he saved himself fighting the grind to get the key he needed. But wait, there's more! ~ Johnny ran out of T2 and T1 Capture keys to the devilish RNG Wizard without a single Orthos Prime Blade! "Nieh nieh nieh! Better luck next time, Johnny boy!" "NOOOOOOooooooo~....." Johnny felt defeated, his pride weakening..."Johnny..." said a mysterious voice. "You can turn that T3 Capture key into a T2 and a T1 Capture key." It was The Lotus! "Really?!" "Yup." Johnny was baffled once again. With more credits and more wishful thinking, he turned that useless T3 Capture key into a T2 and a T1 Capture key! "I can't believe how much RNG this relieves off my shoulders!" - Johnny Note: to limit this amount of power to the player, you can only transmutate to acquire a key of the same mission type. So no mish-mashing T1 Exterminate keys with T2 Defense keys to get T3 Mobile Defense keys. The Devs also mentioned a possible "T4 Void Key" to provide a healthy dose of challenge to the vets, and this feature would help these vets acquire the keys without fighting grind when they are first released. Less RNG, more challenge. It's a win-win. Not only that, but this will also be a worthwhile place to dump credits, as I know many players sit atop a mountain of millions with nothing to spend it on. TL;DR - We should have a feature to fuse or separate keys of the same mission type to the Tower (T1, T2, T3 and maybe T4) we want in order reduce the RNG based grind for Void Keys. Thank you for your time, and I hope I got my point across accurately. Feel free to leave comments or suggestions down below, thanks!
Deristel
I really like the idea and many time i asked myself why don't we have a recipe to transmute lower tier keys into a higher one.
Wallace24
yes pls! oh wait, you said no on being able to change T3 keys to other T3 keys? well, guess that's fair but I'm thinking you could trade like 2 T3 keys and get a random T3 key from that, something along those lines. so you can't turn a T3 key 1 to 1 into a different mission type if you just happen to get the wrong one, and there are no formulas, like in mod transmutation. so it's still not the best method, but it also allows you to get something useful out of something useless I do think the exchange rate should be higher than just 2:1 to increase from T1 to T2. 3:1 would be alright, and maybe even 3:1 for T2 to T3
(PSN)The_Moustache
I'd like this a lot. I'm sitting on something like 15 T2 Survivals and a lot of Defense keys. Transmuting keys to get different mission types would help me greatly.

T3 Key can be either a T2 and a T1 or T1, T1 and T1. Also works the other way around. 3 T1 keys get you a T3 key, or a T1 and a T2 get you a T3. Angius
+1 Yes, please. I still can't find a single T3 MD...
xethier
I'd vastly prefer to use the same methodology that is used for dragon keys. I.e. costs a morphic and a control module and a random same-tier key to produce one of a different "known" type. have each of the blueprints for these work exactly like dragon key blueprints except costing something ~250k obviously have them be permanent. and the cost to run the job based on the tier. so t1 = 6k -- t2 = 12 -- t3 = 24 enough that you would net some gain by still running the mission, but not much. that's just my 2c though. i have thousands of control modules and hundreds of morphics plus dozens of tier 2 and tier 3 keys of types i don't run often. and i'd LOVE to be able to turn t3md into t3c. even with the costs involved. spending 1m+ credits to buy all the blueprints would even be worth it. imo. plus it would give us a sink for spare credits. i would, however, point out that t4 should probably be excluded from this. for obvious reasons. (whenever they're implemented that is)
