Entari0
Several things before we start. I am absolutely upset that I am not playing a water based frame, against the new Hek, with new melee stuff, but I'm not upset with DE. There will not be a TL;DR for this, so please read the whole thing before posting. It isn’t that long. That said, I think that DE handled this well. They realized that some part of the update was not ready, and decided to, rather than release an unfinished update, hold off for a week and release it when it is done. In the mean time, we have a few alerts for rare items, and can do those and get hyped all over again. What I want to know is why it was delayed. They may tell us on the devstream tomorrow (or on prime time tonight), but I find it weird that they decided to hold off without telling us why. If a massive bug showed up, and you couldn’t fix it in time, I understand that, but I want to know what it was. That being said, I feel like most bugs (not all, you can’t conventionally eliminate all the bugs from a brand new system to begin with), would have been found and eradicated sometime in the time since development on these new systems started. On a related note, it has been a few months since you announced melee 2.0 and Hek 2.0. Why did you decide to announce these major overhauls so early if they were (apparently) not in a ready state? Reply with your opinions, but please keep it civil.
Palor0
I will always prefer game companies to hold back an update than release a flawed product.
yangskiii
I think them telling us about what the future holds isn't a bad thing. I rather play something I know there's something in the future than play a game that seems to have a bleak future.

Zoid25
I too am happy that DE held the release back in order to polish it more, that was the smart move. Im sure we will find out what went wrong either tonight or tomorrow on the livestream. What I am personally upset about was the "hype train" they started with GrineerSystems.com. They started a countdown and got everyone super excited to let us down. They shouldve made sure it was ready to go and THEN started the countdown. I doubt we'll see another hype site like grineersystems again. I am also wondering why the revealed these topics so early? Does that mean that even though focus was mentioned last month it wont come till August? I really hope not...
Wallace24
maybe they didn't tell us what it was because it's part of something awesome that they didn't want to spoil? I too am a little disappointed, but I also agree that I'd prefer a more refined product be released later than a shoddy one be released now. melee 2.0 is going to be huge, so i don't blame them in taking their time with it

Sadly gaming company hold back on update to avoid releasing a flawed product, then when they release it has so many obvious bugs that you wonder if they ever played with them in testing phase

DeccanTraps
In what way was this handled well exactly? They delay this update time and again, they spend days fanning the anticipation to a raging pyre, and as the curtain comes down, behind it, is, another curtain. They don't explain, they haven't in any obvious way apologized, they throw a few alerts into the pipeline and think all is well. Right now the AFD post about the grate thing is more prominent than any explanation of the delay the problems or the rest. Oh there are worse things at large, and I do like the game, but nothing about this comes off well. Not the second timer, not the lack of explanation, not the fact they think a few trinkets make this ok.

mpastor
They could delay until November and it wouldn't bother me. Didnt even notice.
Azamagon
My opinion: * The fact that they delayed it? Not too big of an issue in itself, really. * The lack of info WHY it was delayed? Not so nice though. Furthermore, something that keeps bothering me: Aren't we supposed to be in beta? Aren't we supposed to be testing their half-finished stuff for them and give feedback on it? Or was the stuff so buggy that it would just break the game? Yet then why do they treat it like a released game, giving us the feeling that the updates are more like tiny expansions? But in essence, that actually means that the game is more in ALPHA, due to them keeping up fixing FUNDAMENTAL issues of the game! I'm just confused about this. The game is in alpha-mode, called beta, but treated like if it was released... how do you want it DE? If you say it is beta, TREAT IT LIKE A BETA! Mokkania
Sadly gaming company hold back on update to avoid releasing a flawed product, then when they release it has so many obvious bugs that you wonder if they ever played with them in testing phase I too think that U13 will still most likely have bugs, so people shouldn't expect too much. But in here the problem was not that, they wanted to release, they encountered a problem so they had to work on it which is nothing abnormal. My opinion: * The fact that they delayed it? Not too big of an issue in itself, really. * The lack of info WHY it was delayed? Not so nice though. Furthermore, something that keeps bothering me: Aren't we supposed to be in beta? The game is in alpha-mode, called beta, but treated like if it was released... how do you want it DE? If you say it is beta, TREAT IT LIKE A BETA! I don't think there is too much point in explaining some technical problems, else if it isn't a technical but something bad it'd be kind of strange for a business company to admit and degrade their own image. As for your second point you're quite right the game feels like more alpha than beta (the fact that they are reworking several key mechanics show it) but it's just my opinion, the global feeling i got from warframe is that it is incomplete as a game. There are more i should say on that but i'll keep it right here. You think they treat it as released game that's not what i think, there is a distinction between releasing something testable and something that should not be put and that was probably the case for U13 tough i can't confirm it, an example of beta stuff were the broken lights i'd say. DeccanTraps
Both Rebecca and Megan have publically stated "we're sorry about the unplanned delay" in the Delay Megathread So buried in an enormous thread amid every other voice? meanwhile the top of the Information headquarters>News forum, pinned so it stays there, is the April Fools day Update 1: grate prime gag. Still. Seeing my point yet? Edited April 3, 2014 by DeccanTraps
NuLycan
Honestly, regarding the disappointment, I don't think it was anything malicious and I believe that DE is trying to address it. On the other hand, I'm pretty sure this was just a lack of communication on the Dev's part. Like that's never happened before....
