Top Dps/scaling Sentinel Build

Question

Hello my fellow tenno,

 

Luckly, this isn't another Sweeper or DMR build.

 

It's a Carrier W/ 5 forma Djinns Stinger. I'm using carrier due to its close range (Stingers travel time/sentinals are better with small range) and because it has the only useful abilites as a sentinal currently. The reason why i went out of my way and potato'd and formad the stinger over the sweeper was because it's abilty to have 100% proc chance.

 

As we all know, the Stinger has a 100% toxin proc. If you change the toxin to by adding cyro rounds it'll have Viral (lowers healthy by 50%), Corrosive (lowers armour by 75%), or Gas (an AoE proc that deals dmg over time).

 

So, the stinger is mostly effective against high lvl enemies. And it'll 1 shot mostly anything low-mid lvl.

 

 

 

                        Rember this is an elemental weapon, so you have to compinsate the extra dmg for each faction.

Build C: Infested/Void (switch out Wildfire for a low ranked Shred for the voids)

Spare Parts is one of the most useless mods of all! I would replace it with something more practical like Self Destruct. That way when he explodes he takes some enemies with him instead of dropping you a fieldron sample... Or even just toss Steel Fiber on the old girl for a little extra protection.

Yes it does.

 

Eletric+toxin= corrosive

 

Prove it with numbers if it does then.

 

Toxin is NOT Corrosive, Corrosive is Corrosive. They are two separate, functioning, damage types, even if Toxin damage turns into Corrosive.

 

I want to see your proof that it keeps the 100% procs.

i play trinity allot so he rarly dies and he has low amor so adding steel fiber doent help much in my opinion. i think sentinals have like 50 armour. so adding steel fiber on a sentinal is like adding steel fiber on loki

Forma on a sentinel plz...

 

3 forma on shade, and 4 more on stinger.

 

I can confirm 100% proc change, just look at your loadout and take a screen of that (i would, but im at work). Its the reason i use stinger,

 

i like having max precepts, and shade has more health than Ash/Saryn when you max her out.

From what I've seen, weapons that have innate proc types keeps that proc type even if you change the weapons base damage type.   For example, the torid is 100% gas proc.  Even if you change it's base toxin damage to corrosive, the weapon will do corrosive damage and proc  corrosive on the target, but the gas proc will still proc as gas DOT damage.    So basically I think sentinel weapons would be the same.   However, I haven't tested this stuff in a while but I'm almost certain that's how it works.

 what should i do to improve its chance of living? i mean he rarly dies, and i dont have the credits to rank up its sheild and health anymore. and steel fiber is only useful when it has a high armour rating... carrier has 50 armour.....

yup, just like Ky and my own experience. 100% toxin proc at all times, but the additional elements still have the "Normal" proc chance to got through. Still corrosive damage is nice any way you slice it when you are up against grineer.

 

Personally i prefer the Radiation + Viral mix on stinger, makes for a harder hitting dart up against heavies of all factions.

unfortuantly dpsframe doesnt factor in the 100% toxin chance in damage calculations, so we couldnt ballpark the average dps of the thing. But IMHO its work a forma, or at the very least, a potato.

Regen, Fast Deflection, Redirection, Vitality. Max them up in that order (or slowly max all together) and you will have a sentinal that can take some hits.

 

Enemies generally focus shooting your sentinal if you arent attacking them, CANT attack them, or they can only see the sentinal and not you.

 

Ive lost sentinals to bladestorm (Ash is invincible, Shade is not. Toxic does not like shade at all), Hysteria, getting downed (they stop shooting at you and shoot at the thing floating above your body), and massive splash damage (a la napalm). the quick recharge helps alot. And having a huge health pool gives more time for Regen to kick in and max out their vital stats.

ahhh regen, i forgot about that mod! I guess i'll forma the carrier 1-2 times and add it in around the bottom right in replacement of spare mods or whatever its called. and yea, ive had my fair shares of getting downed and they destory my sentinal.

No. Regen needs to be as high as you can put it. That way the SECOND the sentinal's health dips below trigger threshhold, it kicks in and heals it. I actually put it above Gaurdian (but below ghost on Shade). At the very least, make sure its ahead of the Attack Precept, so it stops shooting long enough to heal itself
