Iridon
Name funny and draw your attention? Good. Ok fellow Tenno, here is my idea for a new tool. How many times have you been sitting on a Potato and had several guns to decide between, because you missed the last alert or frankly wont drop the dime to buy the damn things? Or what if you have a weapon you REALLY enjoy using, but can't trust the community's word to tell if it's really worth tatering or not? Well I introduce the foetato! The concept of the foetatoe is simple, a temporary Orokin Catalyst or Reactor that lasts a very limited time (Whether that be in-game hours or a total hour clock like the boosters sold in the market, most likely the latter) and allow your weapon or warframe respectively to mimic the effect of being potato'd. Now of course, this would be a one-time thing or else it would simply be too easy to keep replacing the foetatos in your weapon like changing the batteries on a walkman, yet still grant you a long enough glimpse at it's potential to tell which weapon you would like to see fully awoken. My prospect for acquisition would of course be through alerts alone (And marketplace for those who really feel so inclined to buy a multi-pack of them for plat) as not something quite as rare as a real potat or weapon BP, but about as often as assorted auras appear. This would breathe some life back into the alerts, rarely do I find myself interested in them, sitting on a fat stack of credits, 5-11k In one run hardly seems tempting when I could get nearly 20k from a lucky void mission, or go do 5-runs on an invasion and get a hunter NPC ticket placed on me with a sweet 50k at the end of the dispute. This has just been my little input, a curious notion that entered my head one day about how Warframe might be a little better. Yes before more silly items we want core game-play and more endgame content, but I might as well put my idea out, lemme know what you think! Addendum: Just thought a small stipulation of it would that the weapon is required to be rank 30 before accepting a Foetato or else you could abuse the double-mod slots to make it more potent as it's leveling and thus easier to rank through. Shackram
Maybe there could be a "corrupted" reactor/catalist that would be rewarded from the derelict missions about as commonly as Forma is in the void. Because it's unstable it would "only" last about a month, but also only have 50% of the effect of a normal potato, increasing the mod levels to 45. Iridon
The whole corrupted thing is actually a nice spin on why it would expire, and when I say limited I was thinking more like a day or two to see it's fully upgraded state for enough to get an idea of how good it can be, but a week or more would be ridiculous Maybe there could be a "corrupted" reactor/catalist that would be rewarded from the derelict missions about as commonly as Forma is in the void. Iridon
The idea is for people who HAVEN'T been playing this game since closed beta, or have all day to just wait for an alert with a free potato to pop up. There's a lot of new people coming into the game every day, the numbers are growing and the recent trends in event items is proof: Rather than being monstrously improved vs the original weapon, the newest Wraiths and Vandals have been a slight improvement on a crappy weapon, a free gun given to anyone still needing some variety in weapons to help them get along. This would be another addition to keep people hooked on the game in the early stages. Several times I've had some friends I recommended the game to shrug out because the get-go was sort of difficult unless you were playing in the early open beta. i have 7 weapon cat's and i don't know what to do with them i guess i will trash them
