Nightmare Farming

Question

So I have been farming a low lvl nightmare mission for on and off now a few hours trying to get shred. My only question is this. Is this mod just that rare that I have to keep farming for it, and why do people try and rush nightmare the same way they do any normal level?

People are rushing Nightmare missions, because there's no point in staying there longer than needed, especially with modes like no shields or energy drain. The faster you get out of there the more likely is that you'll survive. And the more Nightmare missions you can complete in certain amount of time.

True but when you die every time trying to go fast that isn't very productive. I can go through the low level nightmare exterminate without using abilities most times, unless I get the no armor handicap. I just seem to have a much higher success rate going slow and solo.

But if you go slow and solo and finish the mission in 15 minutes you could complete 4 nightmare missions in one hour. If i rush through it and finish it in 3 minutes i could solve it 20 times in one hour.

The chances to get the wanted mod would be wayyyyy higher if you rush 1 hour these missions than doing them slowly.

You just answered it. I cannot complete one in 3 minutes. And that is saying you actually complete every nightmare solo in that hour at 3 minutes a run. I am choosing. It usually takes me about 5-12 minutes depending on the handicap. I am just saying I would rather take more time and have a higher success rate of completed missions. what good is doing 20 nightmares an hour if you are only successful 50% of the time. My 10 an hour are 90% so in that hour you only actually get 1 more then me.

I choose quality over quantity.

Take the right frame, and some consumables if something goes wrong and you can rush and keep a 99% rate.

I say only 99% cause your game may crash and you "loose" a mission.

But with frames like rhino or trinity with the right loadout you pretty much cant fail on these missions. Especially if you use consumables if its getting close. You can farm your mod without wasting time.

So if you enjoy a slower approach, take your time have fun.

If you want a specific mod, go fast. If you end up dead you did something wrong.

Rushing doesnt mean i put in question if i make it.

I have never spent any money on this game. I only have loki with a reactor, and dread with a catalyst. No forma  on anything. Rushing just isn't a viable option for me. I have no consumables or at least have no idea how to use them.

Going fast only works if you complete the mission. If you can't complete the mission by going fast then that is a waste of time.  I try and complete every mission because every successful attempt is a chance. Failures are a waste.

Buy BPs on the market, build them in foundry. Then click "Gear" on your Arsenal screen and equip them on the ring menu. In game you can use Q to bring the ring menu up.

Or you can bind the ring slots to different keys, so you can quickly throw Team Health Restore just by pressing V or something.

I have some of those team restores but I never knew how to use them or anything. Also a friend of mine is trying to tell me about some in-game trade place. I can't find it and have no idea what he is talking about.

You may want to read Wiki some more...

The dojo I know of. I have traded a few things with clanmates. What he was telling me is something in the chat windows in game that brings up some trade window or something. That is what I can't figure out.

He's probably talking about the "Trading" tab, which should be next to the "Recruitment" tab if I remember correctly. This is where people put up their offers for stuff. Be warned though, your offers can get drowned out very quickly here, and more people are selling stuff than buying.

Okay he keeps saying a trading tab but I have no idea what that is? I don't have it and have no idea where to find it.  Could you help me find this trading tab?

Yeah he was talking about somewhere in the tabs with like add / invite and stuff. I know the 3 icons on the side with the chat bubble, the friends button and the shield button for clan. He keeps telling me that inside one of those is the trading tab but I don't have it. I have no idea what he is talking about.

Its in the Bubble icon. There are ~4 chat tabs in there, "Region", "Clan", "Recruitment" and "Trading". Post what you want to sell/buy in the Trading tab. Once you find a seller/buyer, go to your dojo and invite him/her by right-clicking on their name and selecting "Invite"

Shred is very common. The RNG is fickle and often frustrating. It sounds like you need to upgrade your gear and build some consumables. Most Nightmare mods aren't that hard to get a hold of. If you end up really stuck, you can run derelict vaults for corrupted mods. I feel the vault runs with a full squad are easier than some of the nightmare missions. Corrupted mods tend to be more valuable than nightmare mods so you can trade, or get platinum to trade for the nightmare mods. Because of RNG some nightmare mods are very rare and hence valuable, so the corrupted > nightmare is more a general guideline. It depends on the specific mods. That said, selling corrupted mods is a relatively easy way to make a little platinum and you can accumulate enough to trade for any mod.

why not rush ? to finish it as quickly as possible, nightmare missions are hard as they are

my question

is do you have an equal chance on getting all nightmare mods from low level planet (like earth)

as you have the chance of getting them on high level planets (like pluto) ?

becouse every time i do it i get like...8 times stunning speed and 5 times somthing else...and then 1 vigor or somthing...
