TexasFightBunny
With the advent of The Sword Alone comes the option to form completely melee-centric squads. You can play entire missions with not but your blade. I was thinking it would be cool if DE added a new grineer enemy which, like the tenno, are trained as advanced swordsmen. While the grineer already have two melee classes, to me they seem less like professional melee combatants and more like regular troops who seem to have forgotten their firearms. With this new enemy type they would use advanced sword tactics and moves like the tenno to give a specialized combat experience. Perhaps these grineer swordsmen could have even been trained by turn-coat tenno. I just think it would be interesting to see a match between a four player squad of tenno and a team of grineer swordsmen. Discuss!
_Absolom_
Simply put: All my yes. Melee only restrictions on a level are OK with me too. As long as the enemy is only using melee as well.
Nkomo-Sama
A few devstreams ago there was mention of melee focused enemies and AI in the works...possibly with this update they will be released...it is not only grineer either. I do not think a melee restriction is necessary although I would not mind as I use mostly melee right now...

During the livestream when they were showing off Melee 2.0 I believe I saw the Scorpions with a few new moves (while he was hiding in the tunnel I believe the Scorpion did a jumping attack.) But yeah, I'd love to see more melee enemies who know how to use their weapons.
Arunafeltz
Don't the Grineer specialize in Impact weapons? I'd like to see elite melee leaders with the Jat Kittag, and specialized anti-Corpus strikers with Amphis.
ensignvidiot
Hek's Elite Gaurd was confirmed in steam that they will be super Melee Units.
H.Katsura_999
I guess enemies who know how to melee combos can be quite interesting in-game. I just hope they're not that "charge at your face and shoot them in the head" type like those Grineer butchers. It would be more interesting you could parry and counter each others melee swings like how true swordsmen fight. you know like you swing first, he counters, then you follow with another counter and so on. then u give up and just shoot his head with your 4 forma'd weapon XD Edited April 5, 2014 by H.Katsura_999
LGear
Yeah, quite interested in seeing more advanced melee Grineer types trying to counter the Tenno melee 2.0. At best though, we may get updates on the Flameblade, Butcher and Scorpion.
Slant667
they already do melee with guns if your at a gunner if you are charging and they have powerfists and butchers
fatpig84
Why not gun and swords ?
H.Katsura_999
Sure the enemy has there own sets of melee units, but what i notice is that melee units at the moment are... well.... like piñatas, you hit them hard enough at a distance and stuff falls down. Now imagine if melee units have the ability to deflect all incoming projectiles using there melee weapon like the tenno in melee 2.0. then you have no choice but to either use ur abilities or to use melee on them and have this mini game in which you exchange blows until someone scores a hit and the chain ends. PsychedelicSnake
Why not gun and swords ? Or guns that shoot swords.
Arlayn
why would you bother with an all melee squad? If the tenno are coming with melee. Switch to shields and go Spartan on the Tenno.
