Hydroid Abilities Thoughts(Positive)

Tempest Barrage(1st): make it be affected by range and strenght,imagine enormous water missiles rain!! :D

 

Tidal Wave(2nd): make it be affected by range and duration,imagine a big tidal wave knocking down enemies and lasting much like 3-4 secs(or more) useful when enemies are blocking your way!

 

UnderTow(3rd): make it be affected by range and strenght(as long as wanted duration),now,for all of you who think it's useless, think about being surrounded by enemies,you do a very big puddle sucking in enemies and hiding friendly tenno...the perfect "save group panic button",obviously works only if team is cooperating

 

Deep Dark Sea(4th): make it be affected by power strenght and power duration(to make it last longer)OR power range to spawn more tentacles, think about little groups of tentacles (3-4) all over the room,with the heavies being thrown around with great damage.

 

if DE does the abilities well they are useful, as i said, well,what you think?

EDIT: think about casting his 4th while in puddle form,tentacles around the puddle throw enemies inside the puddle (4th ability+3rd dmg)

 

It doesn't look like you can fire, cast, or move while a puddle.  You also can't control the tentacles, from what we've seen.  So no real need to think about it for very long.

 

Also, oh yeah.  10 damage a second extra.  Oh yeah.

#3: Have everyone on the team equip Penta and Castanas, dump ammo all in one small area, puddle in that area, grab up tons of enemies, dump them back out, detonate both sets of bombs.

 

I really hope there isn't any enemy limit because Undertow could be the next "bastille".

No, but you can cast tentacles and then puddle. Might be unreliable depending on how the tentacles work.

 

That Penta/Castana combo sounds pretty nifty though.

I love the synergy between his abilities and the fact they compliment a close range/melee playstyle.

 

For example:

 

Tidal Surge can be used to drag enemies into a follow-up Undertow or well-timed Tempest Barrage.

 

Deep Dark Sea can knock enemies down to make sure Tempest Barrage hits after the short delay.

 

Tidal Surge can trap enemies into the largest number of tentacles created by Deep Dark Sea.

Honestly, I think this will probably be the second in a string of well-rounded and self-synergizing releases with just one small stipulation:

He needs to be able to cast his other three abilities while in puddle form. Other forms of attack can be blocked, he can remain stationary... as long as he can cast from the puddle.

That way you can fire off any other skill from the puddle to switch up your strategy: Hide and barrage foes with artillery strikes, fling nearby foes inside with his ultimate or even move the puddle around to gather more foes with his tidal wave form. He can reach Zephyr and Loki levels with this.

All numbers are subject to change; those were just a test. You'll note that 10 DPS was still enough to kill enemies in the Shipyard tile on the dev server.
