.Talia.
Latin name bellātor; (Because it was the language of Rome) warrior, soldier, fighter. Pronunciation: (Classical) IPA(key): /belˈlaː.tor/ Etymology: From bellō (“to wage or carry out war; to fight”), from bellum (“war”). Synonym: Gladiator. A Martial Weapons Specialist, his powers are related to Melee Attacks. Bellator is a offensive soloer, a juggernaut designed around the idea of running around blocking and chaining combo hits. His ability to regenerate some Energy let him use lots of Chanelling. He is able to Proc lots of Status change on targets using Melee Attacks and his Abilities. And he have a Utility Skill for minor Crowd Control. His Ult is a "Oh Sh*t!!" button, letting him quickly kill everything in range while getting some chained combo hits for the multiplier. Jamescell
So pretty much the exact same theme as Valkyr
Archangelzz
This frame is actually a bit different and I think works a tad better not to mention has much better survivability and actually focuses on melee combat itself . cladin
I want to see this real bad, too bad it won't be coming out with melee 2.0.
.Talia.
So pretty much the exact same theme as Valkyr No, Bellator is a Gladiator. He is a Melee Weapons Specialist who makes use of Melee 2.0 functions. And don't get me wrong, i like Valkyr, but everyone knows Valkyr failed in being a Melee Berserker Warframe. DeadScream
I love this concept, even though names in -tor sound too much like terminator and I find them not-fitting-the-game-at-all x_x
.Talia.
Well the suffix -tor was used in Latin to designate a masculine agent noun, a word that is derived from another word denoting an action, and that identifies an entity that does that action. In this case, Bellator in Latin have a meaning like "He who wages war" Warrior or "He who fights" Fighter. Since he is inspired in Gladiators (Another word that ends with -tor) i thought the name would be fitting. But the name is the least important, the concept is what matters. Ichiki-Kinshiro
I love this idea, the abilities seem well thought out and well balanced. I would love to see this in the game as it would be great for people who prefer melee combat. Also, this frame is like Valkyr in no way as it is focused on enhancing whatever melee style you pick, not making you use gauntlets and giving you invincibility. I think this frame would make a beautiful addition to melee 2.0 and hope to see it in coming months if possible. +

Oh well, thanks for the info. I took latin classes during 3 years and I never learnt that lol. As you said, the concept is what matters. And this concept rocks a lot. TotallyRealistic
Would Gladius work as an alternate name? Of course, it's a sword, but it's also associated with Gladiators. Just offering in case Bellator is disliked. But this is a nice frame, the ultimate feels a little lack-luster though. You might also want to have a battle-cry type effect that rallies allies...I mean, he IS a warrior after all, and not all Gladiators fought alone. It also seems you've mixed various Gladiator styles together...quite nice. To go with that net, there should be a Trident-esque weapon. Probably be similar to Orthos only with more thrusting attacks. Of course, the name suggested will probably get discarded by DE if they adopt the idea. The concept is what is important, a true melee berserker capable of chaining long combo. I thought about a battle cry to rally allies but that would make him too close to Valkyr as other have already said. He is supposed to function as a Soloer, kinda like Ash is. About the Ulti, it may seem a bit lackluster but that is because he will basically be spamming his 2 and 3 abilities. But if you make a build around the Ult, with maxed Blind Rage and Focus, using a maxed out Melee Weapon, you will be able to deal massive amounts of damage.
