What Do People Think Will Be Good Melee Frames?

I think the question is more, which Warframes might struggle more in melee?

For example i can see good melee potential in Mag, Ember, Volt and Trinity, despite them being "casters".

 

Meanwhile Oberon who was introduced with a big mace as signature weapon might struggle more in melee since none of his abilities support it (2 nukes, 1 defence and 1 healing ability).

 

Also Frost might suffer from his low speed and having no ability to close distance quickly like Rhino's charge ability. Being doomed to run after enemies a lot and being slowed down by your attack animations.

 

Others i see being more problematic are are Nova, Nekros, Nyx, Banshee and Vauban.

 

80% is nice, but frames like Rhino or Trinity have 100% resistance when their respective powers are active.  Though I suppose if one doesn't want to play either warframe, that method would be the next best alternative.

 

 

Well, Scott was getting knocked down almost every time he tried to melee a Heavy, despite that he was attacking them.  It might be different outside of the dev build, though.

 

Those scenes made my day. It showed so beautifully what a terrible idea it is to have so many enemies with knockdown. Scott had almost full shield and health on his excal with a build he described as being essentialy focused on Melee, but against level 15 Grineer he would have died at least 6 times, as you could see on his health being magically restored so many times.

 

What good will the new improved melee system be if some many enemies will have an ability that knocks you down without any chance to escape it? Good thing he didn't ran into any shield lancers who magically hit him in mid air or while he is behind them.

I see Valkyr faring best as all of her skills are geared toward melee now. Very little modding will have to be done.

Almost everyone else will have to mod to survive in that close range.

 

The rest of the frames will fare like they do now merely due to the fact that they will have to be modded to cope with CQC.

Pure CQC (no ability use) Banshee and Nova will probably fare least well. Both rely on range as a defense.

 

If the block/parry can be utilized without being in sword mode, Most of the frames should see a survivability boost though.
