cvzking
so i remember reading that earth was the "desolate ruined homeworld of the grineer" but it has lush green forests that where genetically engineered by the orokin so which one is it and does this mean the grineer also fought the orokin? and also it says that the grineer are attempting to recolonize earth so does that mean thats not their "home base" then what is this? source warframe wiki
DJ_Redwire
Well, as far as we've been told, or rather not told, it would seem that although the forests of Earth are vast, they still may only represent a small portion of what is on the surface. Say for example that the entire Western Hemisphere was where the forests resided - that still leaves all of Europe, Asia, Africa, and all of the regions in and along oceans where the Grineer could be stationed. So while this is still speculative, it's easy to imagine that there is still a lot of land where the Grineer could have set up shop outside of the forests. EDIT: Also I want to mention, one could argue that the reason missions only take place in the forests is because we are trying to continually protect them from Grineer expansionism (But the real reason for that is because it would be difficult and wasteful to try and fit two unique tile sets on just one planet). Justin_Case001
Remember, this is WF you're talking about. A game where Venus, the hottest planet in our solar system is a frozen ice world, a game where the enemies can turn off life support outside on a planet surface, and a game where we suffocate during survival inside EVA cappable suits. Continuity doesn't matter, except when it's a mod. Edited April 5, 2014 by Justin_Case001

cvzking
so far the jupiter gas city is what makes the most sense to me BUT still it would make sense if the grineer faced off with the orokin and since as of this point we see the grineer and no orokin because the tenno turned on them they are completely gone .but since the orokin basically made earths forest could they be hiding out there

All we know about what that something was is that it's Orokin in nature, since the Orokins were the ones who supercharged the forests to hide whatever that something was. My personal opinion of what is hidden in the forests somewhere is probably some sort of weapon or really powerful artifact. What is actually there remains to be seen. cvzking
i can now see that "ruined homeworld" could be seen in a different context like all the overgrowth could prevent building on that planet so in grineer terms its ruined but it is also their homeworld which means they would have been living their most likely they did have contact with the orokin
Morwyn
Venus used to have snow. Everest had Lava. For a while, Mercury was bigger than the Sun. NOTHING is to scale and don't even get me started on what orbits what. If you want realism, this ain't it.
