Does Anybody Remember What April 2013 Mod Drop Tables Were Like?

If I remember correctly, the mod drop tables used to be very simple.  All AI had the same mod drop table until around the time that mod sharing was implemented, update 10, perhaps.  My memory is really hazy on the exact time and update.  The change occurred in phases too, IIRC.

But, I do remember a time when the mod drop tables were shared widely among all AI units.  And, it was great, because you could just play the game.  You didn't have to camp a spot until you puked to get a sought after mods.  You could play whatever faction, level range, and mission you wanted without hurting your chance of finding the mods you wanted.  The only things you would camp for were warframe components and materials, as we still do.

The shared mod drop table gave the players a lot more freedom and choice than the current system.  In other words, less grind, as far as mods were concerned.  Yes, that is the essential feature, as I see it, of grind, lack of choice, just sitting there doing the same thing over and over expecting different results.

It wasn't less grind strictly because of a higher drop rate.  The mod drop rates have changed since then as you would expect with the implementation of mod sharing.  Even if you have essentially the same drop rates, the simpler drop table is less grindy than the more complicated drop table because you can chase after what you want regardless of mission or other factors.  The simpler drop table lets you prioritize game play over other considerations.

I find that quality, prioritizing game play over other considerations, to give the greatest satisfaction in a game.  And, the simpler the loot tables, the less the interferance by non-essential considerations, which results in less frustration, a more enjoyable gaming experience, and greater customer satisfaction.

So, does anybody remember or should I go get some Pepperidge Farms cookies and eat them until they divulge their memories?
