Sasquatchias
Title says it all; Can/Would DE be willing to insert a testing zone that would allow players to conduct tests and experiments with the in-game items (Warframes, Weapons, Mods, etc...) in semi-controllable environments? Personally I just feel that it'd be something that'd be fairly helpful, and could possibly lead to better feedback regarding weapons/warframes/mods as it'd allow players to test them under varying circumstances that don't have as many different factors affecting the experiment in question. And something that could come from this (if DE would be willing) would be to let certain players who reach certain qualifications imposed by DE to test unreleased weapons/warframes, which would allow them to gather their own data and add to DE's data to help balance it out more. Also for clarification I'm not trying to insinuate anything about DE, I just wanted to suggest something that'd help them out even more. Thoughts on this? So you're saying, create a Beta group within a game that's still in beta. The entire warframe community for PC are the testers. they release weapons and we build and test them. than we give feedback. I know I generally glue my eyes to the screen looking for any graphical faults.
(NSW)Omgwtfl9lbbl
https://forums.warframe.com/index.php?/topic/203703-we-need-testing-dummies/ DE isn't very good at treating their beta like a beta, so I wouldn't hope for that much.
PrimalMayhem
TBH sometimes when I'm making a descicion as to whether invest time and/or plat into getting a certain prime frame/weapons I wich there was a testing area where we could test weapons or stuff we don't have on test dummies or something. I think it would be great as a build able room in the dojo, where there are maybe storage containers where you can borrow these weapons and there are different test ranges. Mr.ominous
I think it is generally a good idea; however, nothing is going to stop people from crying about balance and mechanics completely. DE also has some monetary benefits from the current system because people buy stuff with platinum before they find out if the stuff is actually useful. I am not saying DE wouldn't do this, but they probably won't. TL:DR Good Idea, but it probably won't happen.
Archistopheles
DE has commented on our idea to have a sort of "Armory" in the dojo where we could try out different weapons. A similar room where we could try out frames with and without mods doesn't seem unlikely, but also isn't likely to happen anytime soon. As for a test server.... You need to work for DE to get access to it.
WondahBoah
"This is a beta" Please. Not when they've already been making money off the players via plat purchase, and with insane item pricing to boot. I will not go so far as to say this is a full release, but I would still refrain from calling this a beta
Sasquatchias
So you're saying, create a Beta group within a game that's still in beta. The entire warframe community for PC are the testers. they release weapons and we build and test them. than we give feedback. I know I generally glue my eyes to the screen looking for any graphical faults. It does sound a bit redundant when you put it like that XD. But the reason I suggested for a "Beta Group", is to try and better balance weapons before their release. A fairly decent amount of warframes/weapons come out poorly balanced (either they're "OP" or "UP") and then due to the unclear feedback from many of the community (for every post including actual evidence and numbers there are at least 3 to 4 posts filled with rants or just a sentence complaining about the weapon/warframe in question) they get even more poorly balanced, being buffed or nerfed in the wrong places, etc... I'd just think it'd probably help more if a group of trusted players (who do their research, do many experiments, etc...) were able to give their feedback (with numbers and everything) clearly, instead of having their posts be buried under thousands of other posts that are just one/two sentence complaints or page long rants with no evidence or anything to back them up. Sorry if this is still unclear or excessively negative.

You should take a look at the video game industry right now before making observations. https://www.kickstarter.com/
TisEric
they can . but they wont. as soon as you get to test weapons for free without having to invest time and resources to make them first, people will realize how 70% of the weapons are exactly the same with a new skin on top and wont bother making any unless they want to farm mastery. this would in-turn mean less people rushing builds , impulse buying weapons with plat. it all comes down to the buck.
