My artist friend said it'd grow on me, and it did.  Also, I requested that he did the whole visual disruption thing you see on the default emblem!

It's a very nice synthesis but to be an actual emblem i think you should add at least one more element, and you can also try adding some color.

Maybe the clan's Initials: CTRM In red?

yeap, that sounds like an emblem design, you got a nice easy to recognize image plus an added element that identifies your clan.

You might want to give it a background, remember that it needs to look okay being a hologram that comes off your shoulder.

What kind of background would work you think?

Probably something more solid so it doesn't conflict with the rest of the emblem. It does let you preview the image on your shoulder before you choose to make it, though it's not exactly accurate to how it'll look in game.
